My Notes edit

My self-summary

I'm looking to find a sense of humor, attached to a brain, attached to a guy....I suppose I could hang out with a brain by itself, but it would be kind of squishy.

I guess the best way to describe me is that since I've lived/grown up in both the north and the south, I'm a strange combination of northern and southern in temperament. Blunt but shy - proper but improper - girly but tomboyish...and sometimes I swear like a sailor, which I'm not necessarily proud of.

I'm a gamer, of the video variety, which is handy in the current economy. There's few things cheaper than sitting at home playing a video game.

I'm very much a sports fan. Hockey, Football (mostly college but occasionally pro - Go Steelers!), Racing..etc. Beyond my favorite teams/players/drivers, I tend to pull for the underdogs with the most touching story. But before you think my heart is always in the right place, I may also be heard critiquing their uniforms or trophy girlfriends in a slightly catty manner. And yes, I cried when the Penguins lost to the damn Red Wings.

As far as what I'm looking for, I really don't know. I've been happily single for some time but out of a newly developed curiosity I've decided to dip my toes into the dating pool again. I CAN tell you that I'm not looking for a Barbie Dream House/Car/Baby. That said, I'm also not looking for a meaningless fling.

What I'm doing with my life

I'm currently frittering it away and not acting my age, which makes me very happy.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Scratch 'n Sniff.

Books: I'm currently in a "reading for enjoyment" phase, so that would include Douglas Adams (I read the Hitchhikers series at least once a year - I also tend to read Jane Eyre once a year too..go figure), Christopher Moore, Charlaine Harris, MaryJanice Davidson (yay silly fluff!!!), David Sedaris, Janet Evanovich, Laurell K. Hamilton, David Eddings, Bill Bryson...there's way more, so I'll just have to add them as I think of them.

Movies: Oh lordy...this may be a deal breaker for a lot of guys, but here goes...I'm not really a big movie person {cringing}. I'll tell you this...when the question posed to me pertains to movies and starts with "Have you seen {random movie title}?"..nine times out of ten, the answer will be "No". When I do watch movies they tend to be more in the realm of comedy, sci-fi or such.

TV: As a complete 180 from movies, I'm a tv buff. If it weren't for my DVR I'd be a homebody of the worst type. Dexter, Daily Show, Bones, Weeds, Ugly Betty, Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, Chuck, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Ninja Warrior, My Boys, Rescue Me, Anything Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Firefly....dear dear Firefly).

Music: I can't answer this question without running on and on. Like most everyone else, my tastes run the gamut. It would just be easier to let you peruse my itunes.

Food: This is surprisingly difficult to answer. Depends on my mood. Maybe comfort food or maybe something new and interesting.

The six things I could never do without

- Gadgets (Laptop, Cellphone, DVR, Game systems..etc)
- My Sister
- Dear Friends
- Stimulation (take that as you will..however you interpret it, you'll probably be right)
- NPR (I'm a huge news and "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" junky)

aaaaaand...for my sixth thing, I'm going to go with...opposable thumbs.

Loooove those opposable thumbs.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Things that I probably shouldn't think about. I tend to analyze things, almost overly, and I ask uncomfortable questions from time to time. I'm generally very curious and I like to pick things apart and look at them from all angles. Very few topics are taboo to me.

On a typical Friday night I am

Lady of Leisuring - Which currently entails watching Ninja Warrior while painting my toes. Yep, it's a wild and crazy life I lead.

Sometimes I'll go to a show, maybe a shindig, or maybe I'll be playing cards with some friends...thought not nearly as often as I'd like.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I've been known to have a bit of an ethically poly slant.

Oh...and I have a small collection of comic books.
