Sweet like a marmalade cat,

I'm loving and laughing,
Like the waves of the sea.

I'm a musician - singer/pianist - with a background in jazz. I'm currently in grad school at NYU for musical theater composition. One piece that I'm working on now involves a singing chicken that plays tic-tac-toe. (Chick-tac-toe!)

Besides cooking up music, I like cooking delectable dishes with friends. Yeah for the fresh fruit and veggies of the summer!

I like moving my body. I love dancing! I dance it up at live music shows or take part in an improv dance class at least once a week. I'm also into yoga and go regularly to classes and practice on my own. And I bike all over the city.

I'm passionate about fighting for justice as well. I worked for 6 years as a community organizer in Bushwick fighting for better housing conditions and immigrant rights. Pa'lante! Si se puede!

I try to live by my grandpa's motto that "you hardly live once." I try to fill each moment with presence and joy and surround myself as much as possible with people that I love.

Career-wise, I'm in grad school for musical theater in order to both become a teacher and to further develop my profession as a composer/performer. I'm particularly interested in ways of using art for social change.
