My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm slightly nerdy (not too much), but it's important to me that you at least know the difference between Star Trek and Star Wars. Bonus points if you can tell me the best films in each of those franchises. :)

I'm originally from Minnesota, but I have lived in Tucson for over a decade. I have been here long enough that I feel almost like a native.

One of my favorite quotes is one that is commonly attributed to Dr. Seuss: “We are all a little weird and life is a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love." I'm looking for someone who believes in this philosophy as much as I do.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Recently, I have been taking classes in social work when I have time (I work full time so I can only take classes part time, but I am slowly but surely working my way towards a degree). I think it's important to do something with my life, whether it be a career, a hobby, or volunteer work, that I am passionate about and that makes a positive contribution to the world.

Until I finish school, I am working at a commercial property management company. It's not the kind of job I expected to have, but it definitely has its interesting moments.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at trivia! Just try and challenge me to Trivial Pursuit. I was even a two-time Jeopardy! champion a few years ago.

I'm an excellent speller. I won my school's spelling bee in 7th grade, and I am way prouder of that than I should be at my age.

I have recently started taking improv classes. I'm not sure I qualify as "really good" at it, but I don't totally suck at it, either.

Just to switch it up a little, here is a short list of things I'm really bad at but enjoy anyway:

1. Karaoke (bring earplugs)
2. Gardening (I am on the Most Wanted list for plant serial killers)
3. Talking in fake accents (my specialty is Canadian, eh)
4. Playing the saxophone (maybe you should buy two pairs of earplugs just to be safe)

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I am not sure if I have a favorite book or a favorite author, but I love reading. One of my favorite literary genres is hardboiled detective novels (Raymond Chandler, etc.)

A few of my favorite movies are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Big Lebowski (and other Coen brothers movies), L.A. Confidental, The Royal Tenenbaums, and the original Star Wars trilogy.

I watch way too much TV! I love Mad Men, Arrested Development, Community (RIP), Parks & Rec, Archer, and many others. Some of my favorite sci fi shows are Star Trek: The Next Generation, The X-Files, and Doctor Who.

I think Seinfeld is the best television series ever (so far), even once I realized that about half of the plots would be implausible now that everyone carries a cell phone.

As far as music goes, I like a little bit of everything! I am obsessed with the '80s station on satellite radio.

I try new kinds of food as often as I can. I especially like Middle Eastern and Indian food. I want to try more Thai food, and I need someone to recommend some good dishes.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. pets
2. good writing utensils (I am a pencil snob)
3. gentle sarcasm
4. comfortable shoes
5. strawberries
6. laughter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I have a strange obsession with visiting movie filming locations, especially '80s movies. (If only Shermer High School were a real place...) Once I went to San Diego just to see the hallowed ground where the volleyball scene from Top Gun was filmed, and I know all of the Tucson locations from Revenge of the Nerds and Can't Buy Me Love. I would love to start an '80s movie tour of Tucson, but so far I have not found any willing victims.

Lately I've been wondering if there is any food that is not improved by the addition of sriracha sauce. So far I have not found one.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Doing the same thing I do every night, Pinky, trying to take over the world!

But seriously, though, lately I'm at the gym on Fridays. I need to get in shape in case The Doctor picks me as his next companion, as I understand there is an outrageous amount of running involved.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't want children. I know that might scare some people away, but I'd rather have that out in the open to avoid potential conflict later.

...that thing about the '80s movies didn't scare you off.

Please say more than just "hi." ("Hello" doesn't count.) It is really difficult to answer a message that has no substance to it. :)
