My self-summary
I'm a people person, recovering from being an only child with
introverted parents. I dream of going to a big family Christmas
like you see in the movies, with a kids table and heaps of
presents. But I love my parents and will really enjoy our quiet
holiday celebration. We'll watch old movies, my mom will cook way
too much food (she comes from a huge family), and we'll probably
each read our new books for awhile.
I'm an ESFJ on the myers-briggs personality thingy and you can read
more about that below.
I'm smart, silly, liberal, love to sing and make up stupid songs.

What I'm doing with my life
I work for an environmental non-profit. Aka I'm a professional
tree-hugger.
I want to go to grad school eventually..but three years after
college I'm still waiting to see what I want to study. Anthropology
(undergrad major), psychology (child development), history (social
history - what people's lives were like), social work (I'm really
interested in foster care and adoption), writing...
I'm really good at
"ESFJs are people persons - they love people. They are warmly
interested in others. They use their Sensing and Judging
characteristics to gather specific, detailed information about
others, and turn this information into supportive judgments. They
want to like people, and have a special skill at bringing out the
best in others. People like to be around ESFJs, because the ESFJ
has a special gift of invariably making people feel good about
themselves." - some website
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
smile and friendliness. I like to shake hands and learn people's
names. I have a really good memory for names and faces, and might
remember a causual meeting a few years later.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I really love fiction about time-travel, particularly historical
(think Back to the Future 1 & 3, but not 2). My favorite books
therefore are
Time and Again by Jack Finney,
The
Outlander
series by Diana Gabaldon,
The Time Traveler's
Wife. Other favorites are
Everything is
Illuminated and
Jane Eyre. I try to alternate reading
classic literature or non-fiction with current fiction.
Movies: I love classic movies!! I watch a lot of movies, but can be
pretty snobby about it. Guys should at least be open to watching
movies made before they were born. Occasionally you can get me to
watch stuff like "son of rambo" (that was actually cute) but on my
own I prefer to watch masterpiece theater, British historical
dramas.
Music: KEXP!! Mainly what I do these days is listen to KEXP a lot
and get music from the library that I've heard on there. Currently
favorites: blitzen trapper, the Once soundtrack, Feist, Regina
Spektor, the black keys, cold war kids, the kooks, tapes n tapes,
kings of leon, menomena, santogold, the smiths
All time favorites: Van Morrison, Michael Jackson (yes, it's true.
pre-1989), the White Stripes, Modest Mouse, old musicals and
oldies
Food: I'm vegetarian and enjoy cooking. I recently got a great
Indian food cook book and am so excited that I can make good Indian
food at home! woohoo! I'd be okay with dating a meat eater, as long
as he was okay with not always eating meat.
The six things I could never do without
1. my dog
2. my bus pass
3. coca-cola (I'm trying to quit!)
4. library card
5. the benefits of living in a big liberal city
6. vegetarian options!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The people in my life, the book I'm reading, the movie I just
saw....

On a typical Friday night I am
With my friends. I have a close group of friends that I mostly hang
out with. The majority of us went to college together out of state
and all ended up here.
You should message me if
If you have any of these traits and we seem like a good
match.
you play the guitar...
have a beard...
you have a dog...
you can name, let's say, 5 major actors in the 1940s...
you can accurately explain how the smoot-hatley tariff act led to
the great depression... (just kidding. that was in Ferris Bueller's
Day Off, um, but I do like history)
(these are just things that would get you major bonus points)
