My self-summary
Hey. Im 23, going to school for a Masters in history. I work at a
truck shop, mainly dealing with the parts and inventory. I think Im
pretty down to earth, easy going, and easy to get along with, well
grounded. Im big on family and stay pretty close to them all. Im
always there for my family and friends when they need me. I can
have fun doing just about anything, from sitting at home watching
movies to going out with friends doing all kinds of things. Im not
big on the club/bar scene these days, but I do still go to the bar
to hang out sometimes. Im the type who'd rather sit around a table
in a bar than go out dancing at some crammed club. I love bonfires,
maybe its the pyro in me, or just the atmosphere that comes with
hanging out and talking around the fire. I like going to rodeos,
truck pulls, the lake or creek, different things going on around
the area that sound like fun. A Friday night at the races always
sounds like a good idea. I love going fishing, normally when its
warmer outside but I would love to go ice fishing someday. I like
going out on Saturdays to fish at a couple different ponds. Im a
big football fan so I love going to games. Im a huge MU tigers fan.
I watch a lot of different sports and like going to games and races
when I can. I stay pretty current on politics and current events,
not only in the U.S. but also around the world. I think its
important to know whats going on. I like to travel. Getting out and
being able to see new places is always exciting. I can be a dork,
and Im still a kid at heart. I dont like playing head games, and
most times just wont play them. I find it hard to put up with too
much drama. I've found that even at my age there are a lot of
people who dive into drama or are attracted to it for some reason
haha.
What I'm doing with my life
I love history and Im going to school for a Masters in History and
Education now. I plan on teaching high school history soon and
finishing my degree. Id like to get a PhD so I can teach American
or Military History at the college/university level someday. I love
to travel. I think part of it comes from loving history since I
love to see historical sites when I travel. I get so excited when I
get to see new places and learn about the history of places or
events. Other than school I work at a truck shop, mainly dealing
with the parts dept and inventory.
I'm really good at
Hmmmm... this one's tough, makes me feel like Im bragging myself up
and I've never been that good at bragging.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
Im going to say my hair. A lot of people compliment and seem to
always like my hair, so Im not sure if thats what they notice first
or just the thing they'd like to trade for.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My favorite books consist of historical novels or books pertaining
to European and U.S. History. I like reading about History, but I
like seeing the places History took place even more. I dont just
read historical books though, I read a little bit of everything
because you have to keep things mixed up a little. I've read a lot
of different books since it comes with going to school. One book
from high school that still sticks with me is A Prayer for Owen
Meaney. It was a great book and one of my favorites.
I listen to Country music mainly, but I can handle pretty much
anything. The last really good concert I went to would have to be
Garth when he was at the Sprint Center... I've been to concerts
since then, but who really lives up to Garth?? hmmm...
nobody.
Movies? I like all kinds of movies. Suspense, comedy, action,
drama, historical, Disney, and many others. Ya, I admit that I
still have to check out new Disney movies when they come out!!
Maybe its the kid in me still, but frankly I dont think I'll ever
grow out of Disney movies. Some I like in no particular order:
Sandlot, Wanted, Never Back Down, Sixteen Candles (yes its a chick
flick, I know, but I'll probably never get tired of watching it),
Princess Bride and Robin Hood are always classics, I watch a lot of
different shows on tv when I get the time to seriously watch tv. I
like catching re-runs of George Lopez, Reba, Family Guy, and a lot
of other shows. I like shows like Are You Smarter Than a 5th
Grader, Ace of Cakes, Locked Up, How its Made, different shows on
the History & Discovery channels and others. Hmmm, for foods...
I like Italian and Mexican food a lot. I've been told Im pretty
good at cooking and baking. I hear thats always a plus!
The six things I could never do without
I have to say the #1 thing I couldn't live without would be my
family. Im pretty close to my family, and they're important to my
life. We're all always there for each other. I dont think I could
live without my friends either. There are some things friends do
for you that your family doesnt. As for the rest of the six, thats
hard. We all have basic things we cant live without, but also have
those things we refuse to live without. I would refuse to live
without a lot of things... like a car. Hard to drive long distances
without it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My future and where Im going compared to where I am right now. I
spend a lot of time thinking about what needs to be done in order
to take the next step in reaching goals I've set for myself. My
future in general and where I might be in so many years.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most of the time Im hanging out with a couple of my friends over at
their house. Most of my friends are married and have kids now, so
we dont get too wild and crazy anymore. Hanging out at their house
playing with my little sidekick until his bedtime then playing
cards or catching a late movie is better than hitting up the bar
scene for me anyways. I like to go to the races Friday or Saturday
nights during racing season with friends, or check out a truck pull
or rodeo if something is going on close to town too. My Friday
nights tend to change, so there really isnt a typical friday night.
Im not a big club type of person, but I get to a couple bars every
once in a while.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here
Im willing to answer just about any questions that come my way, but
I cant think of many things to tell everyone right now.
