I'm an easy going guy. I generally keep a positive outlook on things... the glass is always 100% full (doesn't have to be full of liquid). Oh yeah, I really like scientific stuff, especially space related. I enjoy watching the space station cruise overhead on a clear night. That takes a bit of help from NASA's website, but they provide it for locations worldwide.

I like to be helpful to others, and thank people when they've been helpful to me. I try not to sweat the small stuff in life. Some people say "it's all small stuff." I appreciate that outlook, but just haven't quite made it there yet. I let other people cut in on the road, and I return extra change to the cashier when too much is given. I like the definition of integrity that says "Doing the right thing even when no one is looking."

I'm a bit reserved, so I generally don't make a fuss about minor annoyances. But, when it gets to be more than that, I am very straight forward about speaking up.

I enjoy nature, and prefer to be outdoors when I can enjoy it... not often enough. I am a certified scuba diver... tropical destinations are high on my list. I'm ready to get back into that, as it has been a while. I used to be kind of a thrill seeker. I do less of that now... well, actually, I just define my thrills differently.

I'm a full time single parent of my pre-teen son. Sometimes I feel incredibly rewarded about it, sometimes I am stressed by it. That's ok.. most often, I just keep doing the right thing (most of the time). I imagine that I'm somewhat different than the average parent in that I communicate with him openly and honestly. Ever since he was young, I've called body parts by their proper names (nothing cute or slang), both male and female. Now that he is in middle school, I teach him truthfully about puberty, adolescence, and sex, and answer his questions correctly and immediately. In talking to other parents about it, I'm shocked to hear that they are avoiding "The Talk." I don't look at it as a talk, but a dialog. I'm the best resource he has... next best doesn't even come close.

I work full time as a software analyst / test engineer, for a large company locally in Austin. I like my job.

I like to travel. Generally, it is 1 good vacation trip each year... although, sometimes we can sneak in a second one. Last year it was to Yellowstone and Glacier National Park in Montana. Like to mix it up... theme parks on occasion, tropical, Texas sites, other awesomeness too.

Technical or mechanical things. I do most of the work on my car. I like to fix things when needed. I think I'm good at reading people.

I really like Nova, and similar nature documentaries. Big Bang Theory is good too. I've not gotten cable or satellite since moving 6 months ago. Trying out the route of Hulu Plus and Netflix. It is a bit lacking, but I may just hook up a computer to the TV as a lot of content is available on the broadcasters' websites.

hmmm... I guess the "Air, food, water, shelter, clothing, and companionship" kinds of things are understood. I really don't think there is much of anything else. Sure, there are the things that I'd LIKE to not do without... The close relationship with my son, my glasses, a car, smartphone, restaurants, and vacations!

God... trying to work it out. Is there a persona of God? Is it nature?

So tired that I just stay home. I often stay up too late, so during the week, that really gets in the way.
