My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up in NE Connecticut and I moved to Brooklyn two years back from Providence, RI. I like to think of myself as a musician and songwriter first and foremost. But I have plenty of other interests I don't spend nearly enough time on.

I make absolutely terrible jokes/puns/plays on words far too often. I laugh easily and am relatively easy to entertain. I tend to know a moderate amount of information about far too many things. It keeps conversation going I suppose.

I love live music, from basement shows up to giant festivals.

I try to appreciate the beauty in small moments and gestures.

I also try to not take too much of my life (including okcupid above all things) with any sort of grave seriousness.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm constantly trying to figure that out. But I'm living the dream I suppose. I remember five year old me specifically saying how much he wanted to be managing a retail store AND working as a server. Well, son, you could have it much worse.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Recovering from awkward situations. In doing so, I end up falling into another, but I try to pull that off as some sort of charm. Other than that, I've got quite the catalog of music and film in my head. Naming songs, artists, directors, actors and such. Something that's totally useful in almost any situation of course.
The first things people usually notice about me

I suppose the first thing people notice is the casual grace I carry myself with... Or probably just my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books - Fallen a bit behind on my reading recently, but the last one I finished was A Visit From the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan.

As far as movies go, I love so many, but I'll choose a few: Chungking Express, Annie Hall, Sunrise (1927), Brazil, City Lights, Chinatown, Cinema Paradiso, Night of the Hunter, Week-End, The 400 Blows, Days of Heaven, Le Samourai.

Favorite music? It changes day to day, but some things that haven't left my ears since I first heard them are: Modest Mouse, New Order, DIIV, Chromatics, Broken Social Scene, Pavement, The National, The Walkmen, Spoon, David Bowie, Destroyer, Parquet Courts, Beach House, Belle and Sebastian, The Avalanches, Grizzly Bear, The Flaming Lips, My Bloody Valentine and so so much more.

Currently on rotation: I can't stop listening to the new Spoon album.

TV shows? Doctor Who, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Archer, Parks and Rec, Bob's Burgers, Modern Family...Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Battlestar Galactica, True Detective, Game of Thrones

And finally, food... I consider myself a rather adventurous eater, who will pretty much try anything once. Nearly. But deep down my favorite thing in the world is just a really great burger. Not saying I won't repeatedly fall in love with some Ethopian cuisine. or maybe some Xiao Long Bao?I'm down for anything really.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
my guitars (or at least one of them, preferably my Jazzmaster)
my notebook and a pen
great coffee
music (that isn't my own)
random conversations with strangers
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
what comes next
where i've been
where i want to go
if i can afford this sandwich
if i have work at ? am, is it really such a good idea to still be in a bar at this hour?
if i have time to shower before work
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Preferably discussing my hopes and dreams with a neat bourbon or scotch, but most likely working.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

When I was in 3rd grade I used to chase girls around...pretending to be a dinosaur. I've stopped since.
