After reading a few online profiles (a few too many) it seems that men are looking for someone that is real and "drama-free" or at least without a ton of baggage. Someone that is not on the rebound, down to earth, and intelligent. They are looking for someone that doesn't take forever to get ready and doesn't pile on make-up. She should love to laugh and have fun. She should be sexy and adventurous. She also should be self-sufficient, not needing a man to take care of her financially. They are looking for someone that is kind, honest, faithful, and trustworthy. (just to name a few things)
CONGRATS:-) If you are reading this and it rings true then you can stop looking for you have found me - I truly believe I am all of the above and I am just waiting for that right guy.
The right guy would be similar to me in many ways - all of the above mentioned but of course with no make-up at all please.
P.S. I am trying to have fun with this site. Some of the questions are ridiculous I know. I have answered many of them and find it very interesting to see how a potential match for me answered them.... Some would argue about things being private but I think it's pretty cool to know some things up front.

I am enjoying living in N.C. I have been here 3 years now. I was born in Illinois and grew up in Ohio. I lived in CA. for about 20 years - briefly living in Arizona and Colorado. I had moved back to Illinois to care for my parents and after sadly losing them both I needed a change. That is when I moved here - my best friend (for 40 years) lives close by and I consider her to be like my sister. It is the first time that I have ever had my own home so I am busy with that. I work, hang out with my friends, walk in the park with my dog, and look forward to meeting my partner.

Initally my smile. Then I think people notice that I am not fake or phony - I am just me.

Music: mostly classic rock and roll (Eagles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve Miller, Genesis, Pink Floyd....) But I listen to many types of music. I took piano lessons as a kid so I can appreciate Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. I took my Mom to see the 3 tenors for her birthday years ago and it was fantastic. I also think jazzy/blues stuff is cool too.
Food: love all kinds of food and think it can be fun to cook with someone and for someone (pizza is a favorite)
Favorite color is purple.
Movies: My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Die Hard, Indiana Jones series, A Patch of Blue, and too many others to name here.....
Books: To Kill A Mockingbird, the Ludlum series, any good page turner, and I even got thru 50 Shades of Grey to see what that was all about - an easy read with some interesting parts...(you can only spank me when I've been naughty...!)
T.V. shows: The Amazing Race, Big Bang Theory, Chopped
Favorite places I've been: Went on a great trip to Paris years ago with some friends. Also took a fantastic tour of Italy - would love to visit there again. I have not gone anywhere exciting recently but my passport is up to date and I am ready to go;-)
Favorite things to do: swimming, going to the beach, walking in the park, and camping - nothing much better than sitting around a campfire checking out the stars....

Green tea first thing in the morning, my dog, laughter, wine, sunshine, and romance. Someone reading my profile wanted to know why family and friends were not on my list - of course family and friends are important - just like air to breathe is important...

how fortunate I am. Life is good. Would I like to have a partner to share it with? Of course...but all things considered I don't have it so bad. I have a decent job that pays the bills, I have a great little house that I love, my dog makes me laugh everyday, I have fantastic friends close by, I'm healthy and I really don't want for anything. Well, maybe there are things I want (I am on an online dating site) - nothing material I should say. I would love to meet someone to go out with and have some fun - just hang out and see where it goes...
That's what I've been thinking about lately anyway.

If I didn't have a date I would probably bring a bottle of wine over my best friend's house and we would shoot some pool while her husband was grilling out something great for dinner. A few other friend's might stop by and in the summertime we would all be in the pool:-) We do a poker night sometimes too - and make homemade pizza:-)

People often tell me that I am "sweet" (not saying I'm not sweet - 'cause I am!) but I am willing to admit that I have a bit of a wild side in me too....
