My self-summary

Alright, here goes...I'm a 24 year old computer administrator by occupation. My job is in no way my life, and I actually like to keep it quite separate if I can. I'm a bit of a nerd, and I can probably spell most words without having to think overly hard about it. I used to get good grades in school without trying too hard, but I don't know that I would consider that a really good thing. My friends call me smart, but that's a relative term. My friends are important to me, and in many ways more so than my family. Don't get me wrong, I love my family, but we've never have an extremely warm relationship. It's a heritage thing I guess. I have a younger sister who is currently in college and no other siblings. I spent a lot of time growing up with my best friends family (he grew up across the street from me), and I think that has effected a lot of things in my life. It also probably explains why I'm quite different than most of my family members. I've never felt completely comfortable being myself around them, so maybe that's why I prefer my friends most of the time. My favorite thing to do is go snowboarding, even if it's just to a local mountain that's not worth most peoples' time. I've been doing it for about 12 or 13 years and I try to get out at least 20 or 30 days a season (but that didn't happen last year, unfortunately). The rest of my time is spent in a variety of ways (see below), none of which I take too seriously. I guess I'm on here looking for someone I can relate to on a few different levels, hopefully, and see what happens.

What I'm doing with my life

Currently I'm working for a school doing tech support. It pays the bills. Like everyone, I have plans. I also just moved out of Royersford into West Pottsgrove (Pottstown), with my best friend and his girlfriend. It was hard to turn down an offer where I would be paying significantly less rent.

I'm really good at

Snowboarding, crossword puzzles, video games, and trivia.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I'm quiet. Especially until I get to know you. I think I just like to take things in at first, and then I'll open up.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - I can't say that I have a particularly favorite book, but I do prefer mysteries and thrillers. I've read a good bit of classic literature. I'm not a big fan of non-fiction, but if it's worth it I'll read it.

Movies - Comedies, dramas, and mostly anything with a decent plot. I particularly dislike horror movies that are gory for the sake of shock value. I'll watch them, but I'd prefer something that makes you think a little more. I've seen a lot of movies, and I'm always up for watching a ton more.

Music - My favorite band is Tool. But I'm not really into the hard rock genre necessarily. I listen to a lot of classic rock. Some of my other favorites include Incubus, Sublime, A Perfect Circle and lately I've been on an 80's kick. I wish I was musically inclined.

TV - Currently I like to watch Lost, Southpark, Burn Notice, Monk, NFL football, Discovery, History, Psych and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I also like a lot of older sitcoms like Seinfeld and King of Queens, but at this point I've seen almost all of the episodes. Right now I'm re-watching Lost on DVD from the start until next season begins.

Food - I'll eat a lot of different foods. I find that I'm becoming less picky as I get older. If I had to pick, I would say that Italian food is my favorite overall.

The six things I could never do without

1. Friends
2. Snowboards
3. Camera
4. Literature
5. iPod
6. XBox 360

I spend a lot of time thinking about

A little tour of Europe, possibly for a month or two. A friend of mine and I have been discussing this lately.

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with friends, either at home or at a quiet local bar. Lately, at home more often than not.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I try not to be, but I'm a nerd. I like astronomy, math, art, and a lot of the other things that some people might consider nerdy. I like to think I can pull it off in the coolest way possible, though.

You should message me if

the thought crossed your mind.
