My self-summary
I am a rogue knight-errant,
A pirate on a sea of dream,
Something of a ribald-savant...
And yet still not all that I seem.
What I’m doing with my life
I play with swords for a living.

I'm an actor combatant and fight choreographer, and I pay my bills by freelancing as a theatrical electrician, technician and stage hand. It's surprising how stable and enjoyable I've found it.

Otherwise there are spontaneous antics and tomfoolery abounding, including random sword fights in the park, hosting karaoke shows, hiking the Hudson Valley, drinking beer at the nerd bar and playing the pennywhistle.
I’m really good at
Acting, Singing, Fighting.

Telling stories and listening to other people's stories - I am a big fan or the oral tradition (there's a bad joke there...).

Walking the fine line between ridiculously silly and professionally serious. Okay, more like playing hopscotch around it. But SERIOUSLY.

Pairing tasty wines, beers, whiskys and cheeses, or mixing tasty cocktails.

Being snarky, finding myself in odd and ridiculous situations, making an ass of myself, and shouting out the lame, dirty or antique jokes most of you are thinking but don't want to say... It's part of my charm.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I am a pirate.

I've been sometimes told it's my smile or my eyes. If you tell me this, I will probably blush wildly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: J.R.R. Tolkien, Dr. Seuss and William Shakespeare are the holy triumverate at the top of my lIterary pantheon. Oscar Wilde and Sam Shepard are demigods.
Currently Reading: Clash of Kings(again), The Ethical Slut, Deadhouse Gates, and The Irish Fairy Book. Yes, at the same time.
A selection: A Song of Fire and Ice series, The Malazan Book of the Fallen series, Fahrenheit 451, The Princess Bride, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, World's End, The Lord Of The Rings, Slaughterhouse Five, 1984, countless plays.

Movies: Serenity, The Boondock Saints, The Princess Bride, The Avengers and all the rest of the MCU, REPO! The Genetic Opera, The Court Jester, Spaceballs, Death To Smootchy, Four Rooms, High Society, Independence Day, Interstate 60, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Cabin In The Woods, Dogma, But I'm A Cheerleader, 10 Things I Hate About You, Pulp Fiction, Stranger Than Fiction, Dead Poets Society, Zombieland...

TV: Firefly, Game of Thrones. Stargate SG-1, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., NCIS, Arrested Development, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Mythbusters, and Mystery Science Theater 3000. I'd love someone to get me into Cosmos and TNG.

Shows: The Last Five Years, Hedwig and The Angry Inch, Pippin, The Fantasticks, Songs For A New World (I feel like these choices say a lot about me).

Music: All of it.
Dave Grohl rules with a rawk fist. I LOVE Foo Fighters. That or Celtic music is most often in my Pandora/Spotify, peppered generously with other stuff.
Ska is what makes me 'Rude' (I'm actually quite polite otherwise...).
I love Rock, Alt Rock, Classic Rock, Punk Rock, Irish Rock, Pirate Rock, Celtic, Rockabilly, Oldies, Cover bands, and a lot of americana-folk. Give me 90s jams any day of the week. And any song that tells a story.

Foods: Practically Anything--I love food. I'll try most anything twice. Can never go wrong with Italian or a real good burger. I need to discover more sushi, though. Anyone wanna introduce me?
I drink whisky, craft beers and cider. LOVE Cider.
I love Coffeehouses, Delis and Diners.
The six things I could never do without
Faith--"I don't care what you believe. Just Believe It." ~Shepherd Derrial Book
People, especially my friends and family--"There’s something way down deep that’s eternal... and that something has to do with human beings." ~Thorton Wilder, "Our Town"
Answers--Or perhaps more accurately, questions to answer. Not trying to be pretentiously deep; I really couldn't do with a world where everything was known.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How could you climb up Rapunzel's hair without pulling her out the gorram window. It's anchored to her head.
How to be a better actor and fighter.
Why I love Tropicana Orange Juice so much.
The natural state and purpose of things.
Where in the World IS Carmen Sandiego?
How to improve things I'm not happy with.
How to go further with things I am happy about.
Why is everyone thinking about how they'd survive the Zombie Apocalypse?
Kink, queerness, non-monogamy and my place in the spectrum(s).
My next awesome piece of fight choreography.
Gender politics.
People's stories and experiences.
On a typical Friday night I am
doing the same thing I do every night, Pinky. TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

If I'm not in a show or rigging lights for a show, it's a crapshoot: some nights it's concerts, out with friends at a dive bar, singing karaoke, or just randomly finding trouble to get into. Other nights its sitting at home cleaning weapons, playing pennywhistle or watching Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a drag queen. No, really.
You should message me if
... you share a tenacity for life and don't just follow the fold. want to pretend we didn't meet on here and instead get together in a coffeehouse, museum, bookstore or a pub. Other ideas welcome!'re looking for a friend or partner in crime for adventures, coffee/beer, and/or entertaining conversation. Seriously, I've found more awesome friends here than anything else.
