My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If you are reading this, you are in select company. Few are the brave and bold who venture into the uncharted depths wherein this profile lurks. Was it chance that brought you here? Curiosity? Bad luck? Cat pawing at your mouse causing a mis-click? Don't despair, things could be worse. On the internet, there's -always- something worse.

Since you're here, my ephemeral guest, I'd best supply what this page's headers suggest you'll find. I've done nothing yet to summarize myself, and you've already waded through more than a paragraph. How like me, to supply a steady flow of words because they roll so easily off of my keyboard, all arranged in a roundabout path to the point.

But what is the point at the end of the path? A spot where I make my mark, to show you that I'm not like everyone else, or perhaps anyone else? I'm all the things stuck in my head: music and art, absurdity and logic, cold pragmatism and hot emotion. I analyze and think and rethink and tweak and adjust as needed. Sometimes I'm smart, other times I'm really, really not... but that's another story. This story's already reached terminal verbosity, and there are so many more headers on this page...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm constructing a long, winding wall of sound out of a vibrant spectrum of musical colors. Most of the shades are dark hues, but some are ultraviole(n)t and others calmingly transparent. I don't think I'll ever run out of bricks, and that wall will never truly be complete.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- composing orchestral action music
- drawing walruses
- arranging a series of polygons into the shape of various three-dimensional objects
- being verbose
- overthinking things
- letting my imagination override reasonable behavior
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm thin and lanky, built like a wizard. Slowly but surely I am trying to change that to 'built like a physically imposing wizard.' It is a work in progress.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, Lord of The Rings, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Dune, lots of Terry Pratchett and Tolkien.

Movies: Aliens, Lord of the Rings, Prometheus, Cloud Atlas, 2001... if it has spaceships, superheroes, or hobbits, there's a good chance I'll like it.

Music: Classical, Orchestral Filmscores, Metal, and Electronica. John Williams, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Debussy, Yoko Kanno, Immortal, Motorhead, Boards of Canada, NiN.

Shows: Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Firefly, a lot of science fiction.

Games: Lots of board / PC / card games. Race for the Galaxy, Samurai, Mass Effect, KotoR, Planescape: Torment, Fallout

Food: I don't have a particular favorite dish, but I do find myself using avocados in an increasingly large number of meals. Also, I like pierogies. I was surprised to find out that a lot of people don't know what those are. Clearly, those people are not from Pittsburgh.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I could never do without:
6. Glasses - I have found seeing clearly to be a useful attribute of vision.
5. Computers - because how else am I going to interact with people? Outside?!
4. Computers - Also useful for producing creative works of art and music.
3. Computers - ...and for wasting time in between acts of creating works of art and music.
2. Movie projectors - because going to the theater would be pretty boring without them.
1. The Internet - The cause of, and the solution to, all my problems.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Political and social issues that concern me in a manner that is more serious than the general tone of this profile suggests I'm capable of being. Things like: sustainable fishing, global warming, transparency in government, feminism, equal rights, and reforming the US political system.

- Frivolity like: a qualitative numeric ranking of all the science fiction films I've seen, strategies to try in various games, and the relative worth of hockey players in free agency.
