Things I've changed about myself already/recently: quit smoking cigarettes sometime in November of 2012. I was addicted to nicotine for almost 10 years. I've already lost 20 lbs in the last month. I had lost 80 pounds previously and put 40 back on in my last relationship, so I'm down 60 lbs overall. Hey, I'll take it, and I plan on still losing at least another 60. I was previously motivated to change myself for an end goal of a steady girlfriend. When I accomplished that, I stopped trying. This was a mistake. Maintaining a healthy balance in my life is crucial to my entire health and my date-ability. I am now motivated to become a healthier individual, not for an end goal but for continuous personal growth. I have stepped up my game in some ways. I have set up a detailed, ideal schedule for myself. I danced hard in previous weight loss, and I restricted caloric intake. I am getting in a minimum of 12 workouts per week. This includes 4 Body by Jake workouts that are intense 11 minute workouts, 4 weight lifting workouts that range from 35 minutes to an hour, and 4 dance workouts that range from a 30 minute dance session to up to 5 hours straight of intense dancing. I also like to get in extra workouts and earn my own extra credit. I am forcing myself to spend more time in the studio, honing my skills and improving my sound through mixing, sorting and I'm also really excited to be getting back into music production. I'm reading a lot more than previously, and currently I am working my way through the entire Dune series. Dune has been my favorite book since like 6th grade, so its fitting that my dive back into the wonderful world of reading for enjoyment includes it. I recently gave up caffeine. I had made many attempts, and always fell back to energy drinks in times of stress. This ultimately made things more difficult. I can have the caffeine that's in a soda sometimes or in a coffee in a true emergency, but I don't really drink soda anymore. In fact my diet includes avoiding high fructose corn syrup and as many additives and preservatives as possible, within a budget. I am also working on moderating myself better with alcohol, though its easiest for me to just avoid it all together currently, as I have more pressing goals that require my effort.
Short Term Goals: Read more, lose weight and get stronger through exercise, be healthier, make healthy choices, spend time in the studio, become more financially responsible, improve DJ career, and find a new partner.
Long Term Goals: DJ exclusively? Go back to school for day job or music depending on DJ career. Maintain good health and habits. Build a family? Own a home? Who knows?
I'm also very intuitive/lucky.
House music first and foremost. I love most and appreciate all music, but there's a lot of crap out there too, regardless of genre.
Futurama. If you love Futurama you're probably half way to winning me over already.
The Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels, Breaking Bad, and pretty much anything on AMC.
Psych is another show I absolutely love, as well as a couple others on USA network.
I enjoy Adult Swim programming as well. I'm sort of a Sci-Fi dork too. My favorite book is Dune.
In addition to House, I enjoy many kinds of music. Tool is one of my favorite bands. I'll pretty much listen to anything. I believe that all art has its time and place. However, when you've decided to be maximal just for the point of being maximal, you've crossed into a zone that is pretty much devoid of any art whatsoever. If your artistic goal is to be as maximal as possible for just the duration of that track or project, then I can sort of understand and appreciate that, but you'll have to sell it to me first. Also, most modern country and R&B are not my favorites, but like I previously stated, I can appreciate art as art, even if its not my top choice for DJing or casual listening.
Food: Just about anything. lol. I like spicy things. My favorite cheese is pepper jack. I enjoy most foods, but I am on a diet. I was eating whatever I wanted. I am monitoring a lot more now.
My main form of exercise is dancing.
Movies: Too many. I wouldn't know where to begin. Ask me how I feel about your favorite one!
Dancing. It just feels so right.
How I would do things different than those in positions of authority.
Standing up to intolerance, bigotry, and downright stupidity. Never let anyone convince you that you have to do something because its normal, standard, or right according to them. BE YOU AND THINK FOR YOURSELF. Don't be a sheep or any other farm animal led to slaughter. Weird and different are good. Be unique. Be innovative. Be PASSIONATE.
I like to dominate, I really like to be dominated, but I just really enjoy sex. It doesn't have to be a power play. I just find that very sexy.
