I am a physically relaxed and mentally high energy man with very wide interests. I am a mature man who is Very Energetic and Youthful in many Important ways. I have a positive outlook and a very well developed sense of the ridiculous. One of my main passions is making music with friends and strangers. I usually play in bands on a regular basis but currently I am in none. I often jam with friends when I have them over for dinner. I am an avid reader - several hours most days.. I am a widower with two grown daughters. I grew up in a family with 11 kids (9 sisters 1 brother)!!
I love walking in nature's places especially open spaces with views. I am extremely liberal in political leanings but have a very open mind that usually tends to see the 'other viewpoint' on many issues. I am deeply spiritual but not religious. I see the commonalities in all religions as good things and the differences as Bad things!

I am semiretired. I work several days a week as a driver and companion for a visually/auditorily impaired woman. I have very deeply taken on a new role in my life, acting as a volunteer Grief Counselor with Memorial Hospice. I last worked full time as a Librarian in an elementary school. I also worked as a Play Room Therapy Aide at the same school. My main pursuits are my home, friends, garden and music. I spend a great deal of time with friends - walking, playing music on my bass, cooking dinners, going on hiking/fishing trips, planning and nurturing the Repair/Saving of the World!!! I spend a lot of time trying to tame my yard and in my hot tub. I help my mildly disabled daughter with food shopping and appointments every week and keep up with my other daughter's life in SF.

Being there for my friends and family. I have a very logical mind that often can zero in on solutions to many varied situations. This is often both a blessing and a curse.

When I was an elementary school librarian I nurtured my students by allowing them to use their imaginations to learn to love books and reading.
I was a successful finish carpenter and project manager for 20 years in the construction industry.
Later I was a very good computer network project manager specializing in nationwide operating system upgrades. I did computer work for 9 years.
I can often crack up my friends with my silly sense of what goes on, particularly obscure viewpoints that entertain others (I hope)!

My open expression, goofy smile and high energy. I feel more free to speak with strangers than most people. I love little children and interact with them a great deal more than most people do. Since I worked as a Librarian and Playroom Therapy Aide in an elementary school and I grew up in a family with 11 kids I am very comfortable with kids of all ages. I am quick in conversation and somewhat sure of my self in most situations. I tend to laugh a lot and very often at myself.

I do not see many movies but love many books. I try to mix in a wide variety of non fiction with my novels. I am am avid reader of both factual and fictitious novels, mostly adventure/crime/detective/etc.... I have recently read "When Things Fall Apart" by Pema Chodron, "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz, and "Milk and Honey" by Faye Kellerman. I read much on Nature, the Cosmos and History. I have favorite fiction series I like to read - Alex Cross, Dismas Hardy, Kay Scarpetta, the Prey novels, any Dan Brown, etc. I love many many types of music. I listen to a lot of jam grass, Irish, Brazilian, and ethnic world music in general . I love good ol' rock and roll, country (it's the stories), island reggae ( it's the BEAT), bluegrass (it's the tempo) and especially expressive melodic jam music (it's the intent and execution).

I spend a lot of time thinking about way too much. I have a naturally multitasking brain that is constantly seeing all the varied nuances of everything. This often leads me in circles and spirals that lead to more thoughts. Usually this leads to a humorous aspect and cracks me up :-) I think of the nature of life a great deal and the apparent growing Dangers to Life, as We Know It - I (We) gotta keep working on that.....

Hopefully renewing myself cooking a great dinner then playing hours of mind and soul inspiring music. If not that, then I might go out to hear music and hopefully be inspired to dance a little. Or I stay home and hopefully be inspired to dance a little or play bass and dance a little.......

I am more comfortable around women than I am around men. I grew up with 9 sisters and that is probably why!!!!
