Mentally and physically, I am healthier than I have ever been. At 62, I am continuing to grow and evolve. Life is getting better as I'm getting older. I am in a beautiful, open relationship and my partner is available to give you a glowing reference for me. (If you get close to me and meet her you'll love her right away - everyone who meets her does.) . Polyamory, for me, is about honesty, community, friendship and finding a healthy way to live in the world. I am open to exploring with you to find a relationship model that fits for us both, and to finding exactly what feels right for us in the moment. If we truly are meant to be, there will be no obstacle we can't overcome, as long as we are using direct, gentle and loving communication!
To pay the bills I am a server and server trainer in a restaurant in SOMA. I find that work rewarding as I enjoy people and making them feel cared for.
I'm also taking acting classes and diving into the world of digital storytelling. I love the theatre - from the classics by Shakespeare, Chekhov and Shaw, to contemporary plays by Sarah Ruhl, Sam Shepard and Tom Stoppard, to musicals like HAIR, Wicked and Godspell. I'm looking forward to seeing SF Shake's production of "Romeo and Juliet" later this summer.
I'm involved with the local Victorian ballroom dance community and enjoy going to the Edwardian Ball, and similar events. I enjoy alignment-based yoga classes, going to museums, bookstores and restaurants - I'm basically an urban kind of guy. I dig buildings, human beings, and having access to a wide variety of cultural activities and resources. My favorite vacation spots are NYC, London, and now Bangkok - I just returned from my first visit there and I loved it. In January I'll be traveling to India and will be staying there for four week.s
Books: Jane, the Brontes, Gaskell and other 19th century authors. Contemporary faves include Vonnegut, Irving, and Tracy Chevalier. Years ago I used to read fantasy and science fiction and was a regular at fan conventions. I love reading the NY Times and other newspapers from around the globe online.
Movies etc: I've studied film production and history and I've watched many classic films and TV shows - if you want a list let me know! I'm sure there are some that we have in common, and others that we could discover together.
Live performances in general are the most meaningful form of entertainment for me. As previously mentioned I like plays and musicals. I also enjoy going to concerts, museums, the ballet, modern dance, the opera, etc.
Music: As a baby boomer I listened to and saw many of the classic rock bands of the 60s, and after that got into jazz, folk, and punk, went to a lot of show in clubs, and often stayed out late dancing. Now I mostly listen to Baroque (and earlier) classical music, at home and when I go out - there's nothing like an evening of Bach. Though I have many fond memories of rock concerts in my past I don't go to many these days, but I am planning on going to see Patti Smith at the Fillmore in December. The New Year's Eve show is already sold out (it's six months away!) but there are still tickets for the 29th and 30th. (She'll be performing the "Horses" album live, from beginning to end. And if that means anything to you, then please contact me!)
Food: I buy fresh fruits and vegetables regularly at the local farmer's markets. When I go to a restaurant I like different ethnic cuisines, and for special occasions I like Gracias Madre or Millenium.
