My parents did a good job raising me back East and instilled the morals and values and life skills that have allowed me to flourish in this wonderful and competitive world. San Francisco has been my home for sometime now, although part of my heart is still 3000 miles away.
During the day I'm convincing people that they really should be more concerned about fortifying their web security and protecting their data. My office is around the corner from the laundry room and kitchen, so I have time to play hooky here and there.
At night I'm probably glancing at the screen and wiping my brow in anticipation of the 40 minutes elapsing to complete my cardio for the day. If it's a special night, I'm hoping my Lucky denim and Polo shoes are feeling comfy as I rendezvous with my friends to embark on the latest SF adventure. On the weekends, it's probably a trail excursion with my loyal K-9 partner in crime as she looks back and urges me, saying, "Dad, c'mon, I know the way, let's go faster !!!"
Vacations for me can be somewhere foreign and interesting, but are usually a pilgrimage back to the holy land (Hometown, USA) ... There's nothing like Thanksgiving or Christmas with the family, spoiling them with a fine Napa wine that they would not exactly find at their local shop. If it's not the aroma of the sacrificial bird, it's the crisp, fresh smell of the lake air that has us all together enjoying the boat ride ... with a fine Napa wine that they would not find at their local shop ;-) I keep them captivated with the trials and tribulations of life in the big City or reminisce about the glory days, maybe a story about how I drove my 8th grade teacher nuts with sarcasm or how we filled up empty apple juice containers with a little Southern Comfort before the homecoming game. I suppose this was the "controlled bad boy" side emerging.
I served in the most respected branch in the U.S. Military, and I'm a better man for it.
I have a very good relationship with my outdoor grill, it keeps me well nourished and healthy, I keep it happy with an ample supply of marinated chicken breasts and well seasoned filet mignon, pink center. I love to dabble with new and interesting cuisine in my humble yet effective scullery. I'm always happy to have a daring and trustful guinea pig to join me with my latest culinary endeavors.
I love the atmosphere of spectating America's Pastime ... especially in the bottom of the ninth, 3-2 count, 2 outs, down by one run, guy on third ... torture ... it's going, it's going, it's gone ... it's outta here folks ... the kayakers in McCovey Bay scurrying frantically for a chance at history !!! All as we share a knee blanket that is covered in peanut shells and spotted by abrupt celebratory raises of our 12oz buddy.
I feel the need for speed, and my stable of toys wait patiently for their occasional reprieve from the battery charger. We'll feel the wind blow in our hair as you clench my sides to signal "slow down", and I interpret that as you digging your spurs into my ribs, so I "speed up". I know what I'm doing and I keep us safe, but on the edge ... and you know this.
Don't be surprised if I open the door for you, offer my arm as we walk, or give you my jacket on a cool night as we wonder back from a romantic dinner in the neighborhood, I guess I'm old fashioned sometimes.
We'll propel Travelocity's stock to the next level, get frequent user points from Yankee Candle, create demand for our vintner friends in Napa, keep classic rock and 80's bands getting royalties after all these years, amuse the sales guy at Coleman because we only buy one double sleeping bag, and have people saying "Now that's a good looking, happy couple".
I hesitate to cast a blueprint as to "what I'm looking for" in a woman, because my mind is pretty open ... but a foundation of good values, honesty, loyalty, playfulness, common sense, ambition, and respect needs to exist.
Let's laugh and explore ! ”
