Honestly, in trying to describe myself, I inevitably get it wrong.
I either make myself sound cooler or lamer or meaner or nicer or
whatever than I really am. I'm an unconventional person but not as
the result of any concentrated effort on my part. I think trying
too hard is a turn-off, as is being unwilling to put in any effort
at all. Generally, I'm supportive, pleasant, and open-minded; but
I'm not easily impressed or swayed. Chew on that.
Really, my main goal in life is to understand and be understood.
I'm deep like that.

What I'm doing with my life
I'm a Graphic
Design student. My friend just informed me that
no one wants to date a student because we're busy and insane, and
either we're trying to date real grown-ups who can focus on a
relationship or we're trying to date other busy insane people. This
is probably accurate.
Really, though, I don't think people ever stop being busy or crazy; but for most students, this is a new phenomenon. I'm finishing my BA after a few years of working full-time and supporting myself. I think I can be a real grown-up and focus on a relationship while being a student.
On a daily basis, I usually walk to and from school. Sometimes I generate income by working in the city as a makeup artist. I spend a lot of time in the digital imaging lab/graphic design studio at school. On weekends or the odd week night, I like to go into town to enjoy social activity. Sometimes I dance. Usually I enjoy wandering, seeing movies, cafes, and museums.

My face, apparently. I mean, it is right there. Also, my teeth--not
my smile, my teeth specifically. If they're not looking above the
shoulders, it's my tattoos they notice. I'm also really
pale with very dark hair--this tends to be a polarizing feature of
my appearance.

I love books. One of
my favorites is Stiff by Mary Roach. I also like the

Have Learned in my Life So Far by Stefan Sagmeister. I want
his book Made
You Look when it comes out in paperback this spring. He's my
graphic designer crush. I don't know if I want to work for him, be
him, or marry him.
I'm really into True Blood on HBO right now. I will watch any reality show BRAVO produces. I was once obsessed with Buffy.
My favorite musician is Fiona Apple. I also enjoy Regina Spektor, the Dresden Dolls, and a lot of music that barely qualifies as listenable.
