Some random facts about me:

I primarily go by a nickname, which was the result of an adjective ice breaker gone awry. I can have an entire conversation using nothing but Mean Girls quotes. My last name loosely translates to “slobbering” or “drooling” in many Romance languages. I’ve been told my totem animal is a baby orangutan... wearing a diaper. My favorite Ryan Gosling Tumblr is Feminist Ryan Gosling. My favorite non-Ryan Gosling Tumblr is Animals Talking in All Caps. I take the important things in life -- family, friends, being awesome at my job -- seriously, but being considered a "serious person" is definitely not something to which I aspire.

I'm a Managing Editor at an online social commerce company and write for blogs and magazines on the side. I've also picked up a freelance gig with a startup in NY. Recently, I decided I want to explore playwriting... not sure how that's gonna go.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy the usual stuff -- being with friends, discovering new music, desperately searching for the motivation to go for a run, etc.

I recently picked up a side gig reviewing LGBT-themed and -authored books, so that's keeping me flush with reading material. I also always have the latest issue of New York magazine in my bag.

I'm considering getting a unicorn tattooed somewhere on my person. Mostly because it seems like it would be physically impossible for a guy with a unicorn tattoo to ever take himself too seriously...
