I am an intelligent woman, very honest, and can be passionate.
My Self-Summary
I am an intelligent, mature, creative and honest woman. I don't
have nor like hidden agendas. My friends and I have many, would
describe me as fiercely loyal, warm and caring. I abhor cruelty,
petty jealousy and mean mindness and if needed will stand up and
speak out. I write every day and hope to make it a future career.
It goes without saying that I love the written word and read as
much as possible. Learning for its own sake is important to me. I
am generous of spirit, non judgemental and try to make the best of
the I have. To relax, I love gardening, cycling, riding my bike and
when I can, horse riding. I have a home in a beautiful part of
Turkey and try to visit it, as often as possible. I am somewhat
unconventional and definitely think outside of the box. I believe
wholeheartedly in honesty, respect, trust and fidelity and am not
prepared to settle for less in a relationship. As I travel into my
later years, I would wish to live a simple life, having time for
time, enjoying the company of gracious, gentle people and exploring
the natural world around me. I am very interested in world affairs
and different cultures and enjoying the company of diverse and
interesting people, I would love to share this with you. I would
like a relationship that starts out as friends and hopefully given
time, we can explore each others depths. I look forward to the
chance of cherishing, loving and caring for that special person and
hope you would feel the same.

What I’m doing with my life
I have had a very diverse and different life. As far as education
is concerned, I attended Agricultural College, then later did a
degree in Public Sector Studies and am currently undertaking an MA
in Creative Writing. With work I have always been employed in the
voluntary sector working with people. Homelessnness, Addiction,
Community Advice Centres, Young Offenders, Charitable fundraising,
single parents and more. Currently, I am a professional fosterarer,
taking into my home, complex 'difficult to place' teenagers Besides
this, I was a politician, Chaired local charities and was on the
board of two national charities. At present apart attending
University and looking after the children in my home, I enjoy and
appreciate the company of my wonderful friends, visiting my home in
Turkey, whenever I can, sometimes with the children or friends or
other times on my own. Gardening, reading, writing, going to the
theatre seems to fill the rest of my time. However, it would be
lovely to share all of this with someone special.
I’m really good at
Trying to be a good and honest person, without which life would be
poorer for me. We are all work in progress and each of us have made
mistakes, I try to learn from them, with the wish that I would
become a more rounded person. Besides that I make an excellent
friend, some of those I know have been part of my life for almost
forty years. Friendships are similar to relationships they require
effort and compromise to sustain them. Besides this I think I have
some talent as a writer, though improvements are required, hence
undertaking the degree. I'm organised, not scared of responsibility
and can be very practical when needed.
The first things people usually notice about me
My personality, I'm very outgoing and will always make the effort
with others first. As for my physical attributes, well that's in
the eye of the beholder. People have commented on my ease with
others and the fact that I am able to converse on a variety of
topics.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I adore books and you'll find them all over my house. My favourite
book of all time is White Swan by a Chinese woman called Chang. I
do like oversea's writers the have an edge, not often found in
modern British writers. As for movies I like films that make you
think, stir emotions, one of my favourites is Colour Purple. Music,
well I am a child of the sixties and still enjoy Dylan, Cohen,
Hendrix and much more from that era. I also like listening to world
music, jazz, soul and latterly singers such as Winehouse, Rowley
and Duffy. Food is more than you eat, it an opportunity to share,
and I love cooking for others. Personally, fish and seafood are my
favourite, but anything cooked with fresh ingredients and well
prepared is a pleasure to eat.
The six things I could never do without
Books, they are my lifelong companions. Friends, without which my
life would be much poorer and very lonely. Family, especially my
three daughters, they have given me and still give me great joy.
Having a garden, life would be duller if I couldn't grow beautiful
flowers and plants. A bike, I don't drive and use it on a daily
basis to get around. t The Internet and all it offers, such as
keeping in contact with others. It is wonderful having the biggest
library in the world on my desk.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I conduct myself and deal with people and situations. My
friends and family, I am concerned for their welling being and
happiness. The world around me and what's happening in it. My
future, I am excited about my time to come and how I can use it,
and what it has to offer. Unfortunately, the more boring aspects of
life, like cleaning appointments and so on.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes I will spend it writing, if I have work to do or am in
the mood and have something I really want to work on. Other times,
I might spend an evening doing something with the children.
Alternatively going to the theatre, visiting friends, or perhaps
they'll come to me. I'm very flexible and open to whatever
opportunities may arise. What I won't do is spend Friday's in a
club or just drinking in a pub.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Not until I meet you, I am very open and will answer any questions
as long as they are not offensive. I hope you can afford me the
same courtesy.
You should message me if
You are an intelligent, mature, honest, creative man. Somebody who
shares the values I believe in. A man confident in himself able to
share his feelings and definitely not macho. A person who wants to
explore his creative side, Likes the company of gracious people and
has a zest for life.
You should be able to respect my personal space, and I will respect
yours. Somebody who values the important things in life and isn't
hung-up on materialism. An intelligent man, not necessarily
formally educated, but open to learning and interested in the world
around him. I'm searching somebody who can think outside the 'box,'
and isn't scared to try new things. Is that you?
