Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a Chicagoan who has lived in Brooklyn since 2000, and I don't
have any plans to leave. Prior to Brooklyn, I lived in Maine (for
college), Washington, DC, Italy and Bulgaria. I don't get to travel
as much as I used to because I have a eleven-year-old daughter, but
parenting itself is quite an adventure, and we love living in NYC.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently left a career in financial services so I can focus
entirely on what used to be my "hobbies". I'm very busy running
several school gardens and a small farm, and also creating art
work. I'm trying to find a niche in gardening/urban agriculture,
and I plan to write and illustrate books on the same subject.

making people laugh, sending text messages with proper
capitalization and punctuation, drawing plants and animals, and
growing most of my food.

Some of my favorite books include Let the Great World Spin,
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Absurdistan, A Gate at the
Stairs, Oblomov, The Defense, Confessions of Zeno, Tropic of
Capricorn, Sister Carrie, Botany of Desire (...and the list could
go on). As for movies, I like a ton of movies old and new,
including The Fall, Midnight Cowboy, La Strada, The Leopard, The
Killing Fields, Lawrence of Arabia, and Tell No One.
I have no one favorite food nor a short-list, but food in general
is a central part of my life. Living in New York, and Brooklyn in
particular is heaven for a food lover who wants a constant variety.

last but not least...knowing that my daughter is safe and happy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I obsess about politics a bit too much, but I also spend a lot of
time thinking about smaller things such as the next book I'll read,
what I'm going to cook for dinner tonight, what I'll grow in my
garden next season and weekend plans. I guess I keep a lot of
mental lists going on.
