My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Born in Canada, raised in Germany, but by now Philly is my home, and I love it. Recent Penn graduate. I decided late in college that I should be a doctor, so I'm applying to post-bac premed programs.

My historical dinner party (more useful to know than Myers-Briggs) would be Leonardo da Vinci, Richard Feynman, Catherine the Great, Albert Einstein, Voltaire, Alcibiades (Google him), and Theodora I (Google her). Christopher Hitchens can come by for drinks after, but if he talks about Iraq he's getting nothing but Bud Light.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Getting started down the road to medical school, building my resume, stressing out about my resume, being told not to stress out, running/rowing to destress myself. Playing Igor to my P.I.'s Frankenstein (read: entering data).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, rowing, giving advice. I've been told that I generally have good taste.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My panache!
Or my resemblance to a certain famous soccer player.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Eclectic tastes, but I lean towards historical fiction. My favorite is probably "I, Claudius" by Robert Graves (the miniseries is good too). "Flashman" is also a masterpiece, if you can handle the borderline-sociopathic protagonist. And anything by John Le Carré is good. I also like Orson Scott Card, but it's tough to reconcile Card the writer with Card the homophobic nutjob. Also slowly making my way through Gibbon's "Decline and Fall."

Movies: Gravity, Lincoln, Munich, Interstellar, The Hangover, Inception, Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Das Boot, Run Lola Run, Prometheus, 007 movies in general.

Music: everything from classical (Chopin was a genius) to Swedish heavy metal to classic rock to techno to reggae.

Shows: House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Jeeves and Wooster, Monty Python, The Borgias

Food: I'll try anything at least once, unless it has roasted red peppers or prosciutto involved.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Dogs, my passport, my laptop, craft beer (snob, guilty), civilization, full use of my senses and my limbs.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
"Okay, my inner slacker is out to get me. What's that little bastard gonna try today, and how do I beat him?"
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
On a good night, with some close friends. On a bad night, racing to beat a looming deadline.

Or if you can guess which soccer player I meant.
