Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Just moved to California from Philly, looking to meet new people.
I'm currently doing postbac work to get ready for medical school.
What I like most about California so far is how outdoorsy everyone
is. What I like least is the traffic.
I love to travel to weird, offbeat places. And yes, I can be a bit
of a snob about it. My top five cities (in no particular order) are
probably Istanbul, NYC, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Cape Town. My
favorite overall travel experience was the Camino de
Sports are a big part of my life. I rowed back in Philly, but the
sport doesn't really seem to have a presence in Claremont. I'm
getting into mountain biking instead. Might join a rugby team this
fall, time permitting.
My historical dinner party (more informative than Myers-Briggs)
would be Leonardo da Vinci, Catherine the Great, Ben Franklin, and
Alcibiades (Google him). Christopher Hitchens can come by for
drinks after, but if he talks about Iraq he's getting nothing but
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Getting used to being in the classroom again, discovering LA and
learning how to mountain bike in my spare time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can think clearly in emergencies, I've been told my memory is
spookily good, and I'm a decent mimic. Oh, and since I've gotten
into yoga I can balance on one leg while leaning forward like a

My resemblance to a certain famous soccer player. I haven't gotten
VIP treatment out of it yet, unless you count the time I got mobbed
in a restaurant in Jordan by fans trying to get photos with me.
Yes, this really did happen.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, Tinker Tailor Soldier
Spy, or anything else by John Le Carré. Also PG Wodehouse, Ian
Flemming, and I have a love/hate relationship with George R.R.
Movies: The Departed, James Bond, Gravity, Lincoln, Munich,
Interstellar, The Hangover, Inception, Lord of the Rings,
Gladiator, Das Boot, Run Lola Run, and almost anything by Quentin
Tarantino (though Reservoir Dogs is overrated). Spaghetti westerns
Music: A bit of everything, from classical (Chopin was a genius) to
techno to reggae to Swedish heavy metal.
Shows: Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Jeeves and
Wooster, Monty Python, The Borgias
Food: I'll try anything at least once, unless it involves soggy red
peppers or prosciutto. I crave Indonesian food pretty often, which
is a shame since it's so hard to find. If you know any places that
serve mie Aceh that I can get to without buying a plane ticket, let
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Dogs, my passport, coffee, Netflix, my laptop, ambition.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
When I win my first Nobel, who am I gonna thank in my speech?
But in all seriousness, I think a lot about whether I want to stay
in California for the long haul or eventually head back East.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Exploring, or busting my ass if I have an exam on Monday.
