My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Just moved to SoCal from Philadelphia for school, looking to meet new people. I'm an aspiring doctor, and working on my postbac at Scripps right now.

My historical dinner party (more informative than Myers-Briggs) would be Leonardo da Vinci, Catherine the Great, Ben Franklin, and Alcibiades (Google him). Christopher Hitchens can come by for drinks after, but if he talks about Iraq he's getting nothing but Bud Light.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Getting used to being in the classroom again, learning genchem, discovering LA.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can think clearly in emergencies, I've been told my memory is spookily good, and I'm a decent problem solver.

Oh, and since I've gotten into yoga I can balance on one leg while leaning forward like a badass.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My resemblance to a certain famous soccer player. I haven't gotten VIP treatment out of it yet. Unless you count the time I got mobbed in a restaurant in Jordan by fans trying to get photos with me. Yes, this really happened.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: John Le Carré, Haruki Murakami, PG Wodehouse, Ian Flemming. My top two novels are probably The King Must Die and The Bull From the Sea (hope to read more of Mary Reynault's work someday). "Flashman" is also a masterpiece, if you can handle a borderline sociopath protagonist.

Movies: The Departed, Gravity, Lincoln, Munich, Interstellar, The Hangover, Inception, Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Das Boot, Run Lola Run, Almost anything by Quentin Tarantino (though Reservoir Dogs is overrated), Spaghetti westerns in general.

Music: A bit of everything, from classical (Chopin was a genius) to Swedish heavy metal to techno to reggae.

Shows: Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Jeeves and Wooster, Monty Python, The Borgias

Food: I'll try anything at least once, unless it involves soggy red peppers or prosciutto. I physically can't get those things down.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Dogs, my passport, my laptop, beer (snob, guilty), civilization, civil liberties.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
If I want to stay in California or head back east after school is done.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Learning about what to do in LA.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You feel so inclined.
Or if you think you know which soccer player I was talking about.
Perché la minestra si fredda.
