My self-summary
I grew up in the area, but left for a few years. I Lived in New Jersey for two, and California for about the same. I'm getting adjusted to living back here on the east coast, and finding that I love it more and more the longer I stay here.

I'm a white cis male, and I'm an equal rights supporter. I know that I have privilege, and I try to check it. I know how lucky I am to have been born the way I was, and I want to make the world a better place for everyone that I can. Everyone should have the same opportunities, and level of respect as anyone else, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc... If you can't get behind that, then you probably wouldn't want to be talking to me anyway.

I don't subscribe to any specific religion, but I do have my own set of beliefs, and a moral code that I hold myself to. If you want to know more about any of that, I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

I'm an apprentice Cabinet Maker and Blacksmith, Sculptor, Toy Designer, and all-round freelance artist. I love being hands-on. I want to eventually have all the skills I need to be completely self-sufficient.

I'd really like to meet up with people who want to make art. There aren't many people that I know around here who do, but I love being with a group of people, all working on something creative. I feel that artists feed off of each other's energy, and make even more amazing things that way.
What I’m doing with my life
Sculpting and Blacksmithing are my passions! I'd love to be able to live off of my art, but at least my carpentry job is fun, and makes enough money so that I can keep making art when I'm not working.

What I really want to to is become an art teacher. I've always wanted to inspire kids, and help them believe they can actually strive for their dreams, no matter how ridiculous people tell them they are. I'm actually working on a class pitch right now. Once it's done, i'll be shopping it around to as many schools as I can think of!
I’m really good at
Drawing, sculpting, cooking, communicating, and I'm exceedingly dependable.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a loud, boisterous laugh. I have a gruff exterior, but you'll soon find out that I'm a very warm, and caring person. I've also got a couple tattoos, and my piercings are pretty noticeable, but I think they look pretty good on me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Authors: Edward Gorey, Robert Asprin, Garth Nix, H.P. Lovecraft, Piers Anthony, Roald Dahl, Robinson Jeffers, Charles Bukowski, Shel Silverstein, Raymond Carver, Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, Luke Salazar

Books: (I've got an exhaustingly long list of books that I still need to read, but I'm always up for suggestions) Edward Gorey's: Amphigorey, Fahrenheit 451, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Another Fine Myth, Sabriel, The Phantom Tollbooth, My collection of Lovecraft fiction, Where the Sidewalk Ends, A Spell for Chameleon, Lexicon Devil: The Fast Times and Short Life of Darby Crash and The Germs, Beowulf, Grendel

Comic Books: (I LOVE comic books! I study their art just as much as I take pleasure in reading them. I used to want to draw comic books for a living, but found that it wasn't quite for me. I still really adore going to conventions and meeting the artists there!) Calvin & Hobbes, SCUD The Disposable Assassin, Rat Queens, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Saga, Joe the Barbarian, Fatale, All New Ghost Rider, Glory, Swamp Thing, The Tick, Punk Rock Jesus, Osamu Tezuka's Black Jack, Vagabond, Berserk, One Piece

Movies: (I enjoy all sorts of movies! Horror and dark comedies are great, but I really love strange, funny movies that are very cerebral) The Life Aquatic, Dead Man, Down By Law, Amélie, The Fifth Element, Beetlejuice, Tekkonkinkreet, Wristcutters: A Love Story, Drive, Safety Not Guaranteed, Army of Darkness, Bronson, Gangs of New York, There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Her, Barton Fink, Easy Rider, Pink Flamingos

Television: (I only tend to watch shows online at this point while I'm making art. Feel free to throw more suggestions my way) Adventure Time, Rick and Morty, Pushing Daisies, Steven Universe, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Sons of Anarchy, Parks and Recreation, Game of Thrones

Music: (Lots of different things, mostly folk, punk, and indie rock. I would love to talk music with you. I bond really well with people over music, and it's one of my favorite things to talk about) The Germs, Tom Waits, Clutch, Mastodon, Man Man, American Sharks, Elliott Smith, The Horrorpops, Zombie Ghost Train, David Bowie, Murder City Devils, Queens of the Stone Age, Future Islands, Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys, Joy Division, Subhumans, Calabrese, Sonic Youth, Beng Beng Cocktail, Duran Duran, Baroness, Red Fang, The Adolescents, The Sword, World/Inferno Friendship Society

Food: I love cooking! I'll try almost anything, as long as there's no meat in it! I am a huge fan of vegetarian sushi, and I will always enjoy a good beer. I also want you to know that I'm not going to try to get you to be vegetarian. You do you!
The six things I could never do without
Drafting Pencil
Sketchbook
Ink
Music
Cats/other animal friends
Nature!

(Then you have all the regular stuff like, family and friends, food/water/shelter, etc...)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Right now I'm putting together a pitch for a narrative art class that I will shop around to different schools. While I'm still working as a carpenter, I'm trying my best to achieve my dream of becoming a teacher!
On a typical Friday night I am
Making art, grabbing a beer or two with friends, going to a show, watching movies. Pretty standard stuff I would say.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm actually afraid of horses. I can get somewhat near them, but I get super nervous.

You should message me if
If you want to grab a drink sometime, I'm definitely down.
