My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I had the same self-summary up here for like 7 months and realized it was pretty shitty and definitely long. So I want to change it up.

I play guitar, love music, and love sports. My freshman year of college at La Salle I took a philosophy course in which my professor railed against the "idiocy of football" and the "mindlessness of the lite beer crowds" while extolling the virtues of The Clash and Bob Dylan. I politely (kinda) reminded him of the fact that SOME people can appreciate Bob Dylan's poetry and symbolism while also enjoying 300 pound men running a piece of pigskin into each other. I didn't respond to the lite beer comment.

I am not going to sit here and say I have my life figured out and I'm waiting for someone to complete it or anything like that. I just figured I want someone to hang out with and spend some time with. If that sounds good, let me know.

I also recently moved down to Center City from Manayunk, which is the best thing I have done in years. I am a train commuter now. I feel like a grown-up, or something.

Also, I think I'm pretty hilarious. My students disagree, however. They have even discussed creating a Twitter account to post all my of bad jokes. It's not the worst idea.

I used to be way up on the music scene, or scenes. I wish I still was, but I try. ONE DAY I CAME ACROSS AN ALBUM OF GUSTER COVERS THAT FEATURE CATS MEOWING INSTEAD OF VOCALS. I am still trying to process this information.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a middle school social studies teacher out in the suburbs of Philadelphia currently. No longer holding on to rock star dreams. Other dreams have taken over.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Random trivia (oh man am I good at quizzo), playing rhythm guitar, remembering musicians and songs, talking to random people about whatever, quoting the Simpsons
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My height. I swear that I am 6'6''. People tell me that sometimes guys lie on here about their height. It never even crossed my mind.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love music. Bruce, Jawbreaker, Dawes, Old 97s, Ryan Adams, Bad Religion, Al Green, The Roots, Alkaline Trio, Get Up Kids. Have played guitar since I was 12. Big fan of acoustic/punk rock. They are all the go-to's. Currently, though, I can't get enough of Restorations, a local Philly punk band. Quite the punk scene we have going in Philly these days.

I'm a huge Simpsons fan. I quote them religiously. This past summer I finally caved in and decided to watch The Wire. That consisted of me being all 5 seasons on DVD and watching them within a month. Guess what? It's good. I am also a really big fan of BBC dramas. And for some reason I get sucked into Kitchen Nightmares.

Anything history. I love cool, untold stories from history. Fiction is usually limited to a select few writers like Nick Hornby (I love everything by him). My favorite books of all time are Animal Farm and Great Gatsby.

Also a big fan of dive bars with great food and great beer
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Music
2) Friends
3) Craft Beer
4) The sport of baseball
5) Bruce Willis' one-liners in Die Hard
6) Singing songs very loudly and incorrectly
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What, exactly, are people looking for?

How can I make my students love history?

What's next?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
hanging out with my friends, playing guitar, watching sports or quoting Wet Hot American Summer, and drinking some beers.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My parents divorced when I was 18 and as the oldest I became the one in charge of keeping my family together.

There are more private things but...ya know.

At any point in reading this you thought, "Yeah, this is someone I might get along with."

Also, probably shouldn't message me if you don't read any type of book. You may be great looking but we probably won't have much to talk about.
