I draw octopi when the mood takes me. One day I'd love to own a costume shop.
I'm not bad at sketches and drawing. I'm quite good at telling stories, especially of adventures on the high seas in my excellent pirate voice.
I, Lucifer by Glen Duncan. World War Z by Max Brooks. ANY Terry Pratchett book, even the non-Discworld ones. The Necronomicon by Lovecraft. William Gibson. Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. The whole Mortal Engines saga by Philip Reeve. Any Sherlock story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The Compass Rose by Ursula Le Guin and anything by Italo Calvino for something less sciencey-wiencey. Not all Shakespeare, but most.
Song of Ice & Fire. I read it after I watched the show because I had never heard of it, but don't hate me for that because then I went and read them all, can discuss potential plot twists and conspiracies endlessly, and also got my Game of Thrones book signed by George himself (despite the fact that he clearly hates us all).
Literally countless. My "Top 10 Favourite Films" list varies wildly depending on my mood, the genre, the time of year, what I watched recently, what I've eaten, any solar flare activity, the positions of the planets, the arrangement of the stars... it changes, is what I'm trying to say.
Groundhog Day, The Great Dictator, Science of Sleep, Fearless Vampire Killers, Mad Max 2, Evil Dead 2, Old Boy, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Treasure Island (looove the muppets), Star Trek: Undiscovered Country, Casablanca, They Live, and any of the films by Jeunet (Micmacs, City of Lost Children, Delicatessen, etc) and any of the films by Gilliam (Brazil, Time Bandits, Doctor Parnassus, 12 Monkeys, etc). Tremors, Alien & Aliens. My favourite zombie films are the remake of Night of the Living Dead, the 1978 Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead (of course), and Dead Snow. I'm very picky.
The pattern I'm seeing here is that I really love physical effects. I also mostly love animated films but seriously, this list is gonna get loooong.
Mostly cartoons. Top Cat, Adventure Time, Gumball, Bucky O'Hare, Buzz Lightyear, Avatar: The Last Airbender, etc
Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, The Thick of It, Jeeves & Wooster, The Storyteller (even though I know it's honestly pretty crap).
I prefer Star Trek over Star Wars, I'll be honest, but I can happily jabber on about both if I think you'd dig it. R2D2 is my second favourite robot (Wall-E being first of course). DS9 is my favorite Trek - some might say that's unorthodox but that's just how I roll, I'm a rebel baby!
At home I mostly graze, but I graze so healthily! It turns out you can make lettuce and other salad bits taste great with some avocado, sun dried tomatoes, and pine nuts. Beef is delicious. Pringles are great for eating hummus. I also enjoy eating crab, octopus and other non-fish seafood because they're so alien - I want to absorb their eldritch powers. I'm pretty adventurous: recently I learned that crickets taste fine but the texture is awful. I also learned that one of my friends cooks a bitchin' pig heart (marinaded, slow roasted for 24 hours, stuffed with apple & chorizo... my god that's some juicy heart-meat!).
Why don't they suggest this category? Pft. I play quite a lot but there's a few that will always pull me back. The Dungeon Keeper games, Sid Meier's Pirates, Assassin's Creed 4, Portal & Portal 2, Fallout 2, Batman's Arkham games (not the third one though - yurgh), Minecraft, TF2, Walking Dead. I've joined WoW several times, but I've never taken a character all the way to 80.
A drink (these days mostly coffee, some kind of juice or smoothie, or fruit tea).
A good view, or at least a window. Being very hungover on a crowded tube that gets stuck in the tunnel is a brief slice of complete hell.
Internet access. I can't wait until Google comes out with something I can just install in my brain - it'll be so convenient! Having said that, I'm hardly going to endanger my brain by being a beta tester. I need my brain! It's where I keep all my passwords!
Something great to look forward to, and it needs to be only a week or so away. This keeps me very active.
Punctuation! I love to punctuate. One of my tattoos is a question mark. You might have noticed I also quite like HTML.
Defying authority sometimes. I'm chaotic good. For example: now I've listed seven things! If I had eight things to list I totally would. HA! In your face, box title!
