My self-summary
I have a good balance between emotional expression and emotional control. I keep a temperate disposition if the environment gets emotionally charged, but I can explore emotions when appropriate.

I am a curious person, ardent traveler, and I enjoy learning new things. I have principled values, yet I am also open to new ideas and accepting of differing beliefs.

I quit corporate to travel and pursue an entrepreneurial endeavor. It's a flexible and enjoyable lifestyle.

I am spontaneous, perceptive, and adaptable
What I’m doing with my life
I have a versatile education and diverse work experience that allowed me to transition industries mid-career, then pursue the world of self employment. Now my boss is a jerk, but I have a great vacation policy. :)
I’m really good at
I'm competent at Jujitsu, but I haven't trained in over 3 years, so those skills are no doubt a little rusty. I'm really good at several dull academic pursuits such as Calculus, Thermodynamics, Corporate Strategy, Finance. The business stuff has been useful for work; however most of my engineering education has atrophied, and that is fine with me.

I have a talent for spotting wildlife while on hikes or while fly fishing (don't worry, I release my catches in good health). I love nature, and I like to spend time outdoors when possible. I think I make a really good travel partner unless you like to travel with a rigid itinerary.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm relatively tall at about 6'3". Kids are generally uninhibited and honest, and I'll overhear kids that I pass by in public timidly whisper "Mama, he is tall." I've been called worse. I take my height for granted, but it is nice to have traveled to the extent that I have, and never been given any problems.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite authors include Maugham, Hesse, Dostoevsky, Nabokov, Rand, Castaneda.

Favorite movies include Harold and Maude, One flew over a cuckoo's nest, and The Way

Favorite music genre is indie/alt rock including bands such as Heartless Bastards, Tapes n' Tapes, The Shins, The Strokes, Bishop Allen, Spoon, and Clap your hands, to name a few. The Rolling Stones and Creedence remain favorite classics, and not unlike The Dude, I dislike the Eagles.

Favorite foods include seafood and sushi. I also like both Indian and Thai cuisine. I generally eat somewhat healthy, but Ill indulge in a quality pizza or a good fillet mignon once in a while. I have a weakness for good pastries too, especially when paired with a nice cappuccino or cortado.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee, passport, friends, good food, classic literature, fly-fishing gear and laughter. Seven is no less arbitrary than six.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The next destination to satiate my desire for travel.
On a typical Friday night I am
Spending time with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You can ask me about anything; I don't have anything to hide.

I once clicked on a profile based on a picture cleverly placed in the left margin. I was duped into clicking as it truly looked like a bare behind or shall I say bum? In actuality it was her face, but the picture was turned sideways. True story! My apologies for going PG-13 here!

You should message me if
...our interests and values overlap enough that we can enjoy a conversation over coffee/tea, or perhaps a glass of wine. You should also message me if you just finished your punch card at your favorite local coffee shop, and you feel compelled to redeem it for my drink.
Lastly, you should message me if "we all have issues" because I think we just need to work things out.
