My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Extremely sarcastic, like to think witty (though I guess that's more up to you), honest to a fault, and very much an open book. One of my friends offered to let me quote her for this profile. She stated "You're brutal. It makes me laugh."

I am a pretty big pop-culture junkie - movies, music, tv, books, theater - though isn't everyone to some extent? Heads up, I am adult male who enjoys video games, though not to the point where they control my life like South Park would have you believe.

I'm working on getting in shape and being more active. I'm down about 40 pounds since April and feeling great :-D
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work at a software company downtown in the loop as the manager of our technical support team. It's an amazing company with incredible culture and people - I took the job in '08 thinking it would be a temporary thing but it ended up being one of the greatest things that ever happened to me.

My job has afforded me the opportunity to travel to a lot of amazing places and basically helped me build a long long list of wishlist vacations. I've been all over the world including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Montreal, Sydney, and all over the US.

I'm also starting to think about buying a place to live as I've been renting for way too long now. It would be really nice to own a place with actual parking so I could get a car, as well as allowances for pets so I can finally get the puppy I've always wanted. Until then, I am doing a great job of taking care of cactai and bonsai tree :p
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing, sarcasm, taking things apart and putting them back together, killing my houseplants, making goofy faces, being warm and cuddly.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The fact that I raise one eyebrow a lot. And my loud laugh.

Books - I most recently read Steve Martin's autobiography, "Born Standing Up". Definitely recommend it - he's so smart and hilarious. David Sedaris, David Eddings, Dave Eggers (lots of Daves, apparently), Bret Easton Ellis, World War Z.

Movies - Jurassic Park, The Royal Tenebaums, The Departed, Death to Smoochy, Super Troopers, 21 Jump Street, Superbad, Glengarry Glen Ross, Captain Ron, The Princess Bride, A Christmas Story (one day a year), pretty much every Cohen Brothers movie (especially Fargo, Lebowski, and No Country), pretty much all Pixar movies besides Cars

TV Shows - I don't want much live TV anymore and have pretty much transitioned to Netflix, but favorites include Arrested Development, Futurama, Seinfeld, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Critic, The Office (UK, earlier US), An Idiot Abroad, The West Wing, Weeds, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, The League, Louie, and Parks and Rec.

Music - The Killers, Daft Punk, Guster, Barenaked Ladies, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Pearl Jam, Muse, Kings of Leon, Radiohead, James Taylor, Rage Against the Machine, Our Lady Peace, OCRemix

Foods - Chipotle is probably my favorite. In general I really love pizza, italian, thai, and mexican. When it comes to booze my go-to's are whiskey, bourbon, or cider. Make me a good old fashioned and I'll buy you a pony.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Family/friends
2. Conversation
3. Music
4. My phone and pretty much technology in general
5. A comfortable bed
6. Peanut butter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
1. My future - where I'm headed in terms of work and my life in general. For example - where should I look to buy a place? Should I buy a car simply because I feel like I'm too old to not have one despite it being illogical to do so?

2. How to improve as a manager by seeking mentoring from others and reading lots of nerdy business books. This may sound really lame to list, but being a good manager/mentor to the people that work for me is really important to me. I don't want to be Michael Scott, yknow?

3. How I can learn to give up chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks to lose even more weight

4. Places I'd like to travel
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out having a few drinks and maybe singing karaoke with friends/coworkers, or potentially kicking back at home if it's been a long week at work. I tend do do more social activities on Saturday honestly but that doesn't mean I'm not game if the company/activity is right :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I was paid to professionally play video games for a little over a year when I was in college.
