My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm NOT LOOKING anymore, and wish the same to all of you ;-)
(keeping my profile up to compare questions with friends and other fun stuff)
I'm a nice French guy who loves intelligence and niceness.
I believe in sincerity and doing good around myself.
I like doing things differently from other people but I don't mind doing like everyone else if it's the best way.
I tend to overthink and rationalize, but I often do seemingly crazy things in the spur of the moment just because I don't see a good reason not to.
I'm terrified of hurting others, and a bit clumsy at times.
I try to be the best I can, including stopping worrying about that.
I've decided to lead a meaningful life, because that's the only way I can enjoy it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work on the finances of 1001 fontaines, an NGO that makes small water purification stations mostly in Cambodia.
I help manage a non-profit that gives theatre classes and other self-development activities (

I bike around in Paris.
I did a theatre show with some friends last year, and will probably do another this year.
I set flame to the dancefloor at every opportunity.
I did tons of martial arts, and capoeira was by far my favourite. Maybe I'll take it up again someday.

I go to the English-speaking café-philo at the Café de Flore most first wednesdays of the month ( You should come too!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Giving massages
Thinking out of the box
Trying things out
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You tell me :-P
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My all-time favorite books would be "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, for the cheerful disrespectfulness and
"Spinoza: practical philosophy" by Deleuze, because even though it was my hardest read ever I enjoyed the intellectual exercise and liked what I read.
Then there are some French books like "L'élégance du hérisson" or anything by Pennac, a lot of (good) SF and some fantasy, quite a bit of philosophy, some psychology, etc.

I enjoy the movies by Tim burton, the Cohen brothers, Woody Allen and many others. I really liked "The beat that my heart skipped" (the English title is even better than the French one...)

There are also a few TV series I really like: Doctor Who, Dexter, House, Six Feet Under, Blackadder, Jericho...
(for a time, I saw way too many TV series; now I'm more reasonable about that)

As for music, there's a lot of rock: Nirvana, the Offsprings, Franz Ferdinand, the Eels, and sometimes I just need the raw energy of Marilyn Manson or System of a Down ^^
But I also like some mellow music like Stacey Kent or Macy Gray.
Of course many of the artists I really like are French: Noir Désir, Dyonisos, Camille, Mickey 3D, Bénabar, Zazie...

As for food, there's little I don't like (here in France anyway). I'm always happy with a steak tartare or a boudin aux deux pommes. I like foie gras frais with a glass of Sauterne and I love salmon à l'unilatérale... ok, I'll go and have dinner now, this is my stomach typing :-P
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Food and air
Giving and receiving affection
My laptop and an internet connection.
Well, 6 things takes you back to the bare essentials, right? :-P
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Philosophical questions
and more...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I do have a few staples, but no clear winner:

Hanging out in a bar with folks from Zebra Crossing
Playing boardgames or RPGs at a club
Staying home with a TV series or book
Going to dinner with family
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Ah, but would *you* be willing to read about it out of the blue?

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
- You're in Paris :-P
- You have a photo that shows your eyes (off with the sunglasses!)
- You don't attach too much importance to "God" or stuff like that (I can respect some kinds of spirituality but I'm allergic to organized religion).
- You don't smoke more than the occasional cigarette per day, or *at least* you're seriously trying to stop.
- You want to actually meet up, so we can get to know each other (there's only so much you can communicate through text, and much of it is covered by our profiles)

If you were interested enough to read this far, please do hit the star to let me know ;-)
