My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Born and raised in NYC and Ivy League educated. I moved out here almost two years ago and LA is definitely growing on me.

I love to cook! And I'm fairly sure I don't suck at it! That, or my friends and family are just really good liars. Either way, I really love cooking for other people and for dinner parties. It doesn't get much better than a home cooked meal, a bunch of friends, a bottle of red wine and a great conversation.

I'm also a geek, and I really enjoy intellectual debates. Those can be on any topic, from the meaning of life to how many kegs of beer will fit in a kiddie pool. (We actually figured out the answer to that one in college. If you're interested, its 28. Of course that number is relative, depending on the size of the kiddie pool in question...)

And apropos of nothing:
- I deeply care about good writing, but despite having been an English major and feeling morally responsible for having correct grammar, I misplace commas to an alarming degree.
- I have great respect for anyone who can recite Shakespeare.
- I was named after the Beatles song.
- I love the the science section of the New York Times
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Asking that question. Really, though. What do you do with a B.A. in English? (Insert various Avenue Q references here.)

While I'm dealing with my what-is-this-whole-adulthood-nonsense crisis, I'm busy working in TV development.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- Finding good cheap wine
- Losing my socks. I swear there's a sock monster in my laundry every single time...
- Yoga
- Walking fast (It's a New York thing)
- Reaching things on high shelves
- Improvisational cooking
- Finding people in a crowd
- Quoting Shakespeare
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm tall. They always ask if I play basketball. I did. I was Nine. For one glorious year I owned the court with endless rebounds. And then those little squirts grew up and my victory days were over. Though a professional basketball career was never in the cards for me, I did use my height to Row for two years in college.

SPORTS: I was a swimmer and a rower, and when I get the rare chance I love to go scuba diving. I have never learned to surf, but it's on my to-do list. I'll watch pretty much any televised sport if you can tell me something interesting about the teams. And yes, I do like football. Both kinds.

MOVIES: My film collection looks like two halves of a couple put their favorites together, i.e.: Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Dark Knight Trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean and Fight Club are in there along with When Harry Met Sally, Pride & Prejudice, Moulin Rouge and Love Actually. That and all the Pixars. I love Disney and Pixar movies and yes I do know (most) of the lyrics to "I'll Make a Man out of You."

TV: Daily Show & Colbert Report, Slings & Arrows, Once Upon a Time (guilty pleasure), and Game of Thrones (Whyyy George did you do that to us whyyyyyy???) Honestly I know a lot more about the pilots than what's on TV now.

THEATRE/PLAYS: Shakespeare's complete works, Anything by Beckett or Sondheim, McDonagh's Pillowman and Cripple of Inishman, A Streetcar Named Desire, Our Town, R&G Are Dead, Cloud 9, and Angels in America.

BOOKS/POEMS: Dune, The Wasteland, Never Let Me Go, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Giver, The Alchemist, Mythology, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Beowulf. Yes, I actually liked Beowulf.

MUSIC: I'm currently on an indie rock kick. Florence & The Machine, Imagine Dragons, Bastille, Mumford & Sons, etc. But I go through phases.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Dark Chocolate
Really comfy sweaters (the fact that there is no fall in LA still breaks my heart)
Books (the real kind that you can throw across a room, and that smell funny after they've been on shelves for 50 years)
People (I need social contact. Constantly.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop

Stories. I think the arts are all fundamentally an expression of great stories and most of us are just sitting around waiting for inspiration to come.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, going out, watching TV or plotting world domination. You know, the usual.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm adopted and I've met my birth parents. My adoptive parents are divorced and re-married. Long story short, I've got 8 parents and 7 siblings. If you're in it for the long-haul, beware. That's a lot of in-laws.
