Books - I am an information nut. I love sociology books. I read a
ton about food and nutrition, and a fair amount about history. My
"just for fun" book of the moment is The Farrah Chronicles by
Christine Mahoney, and a reread of Robert Asprin's Myth Adventures,
a favorite when I was younger. I also read comics, and while you
would likely put me in the category of "fanatic" it doesn't come up
as often as you'd think, unless you chose to get me started (PS -
feel free to get me started, I'd love to chat comics with
Movies - A few extreme movies will keep this list short: Zardoz
(movie I've seen the most), Good Burger (movie people are most
surprised to see I own), There Goes the Bride (funniest movie I've
ever seen), Wreck-it Ralph (newest movie I've enjoyed along with
best Disney movie), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (favorite Frank
Capra film), Hard Rock Zombies (least watchable movie that I own),
Rumble in Hong Kong (favorite Jackie Chan film), Mohabbatien
(favorite romance film)
Shows - I don't have cable, and to be honest I haven't watched any
television at all since moving to Florida over a year ago! My
previous favorites include The I.T. Crowd, Dexter, Boston Legal,
Firefly, Black Books, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Star Trek
(pretty much all of them), Arrested Development, pretty much
everything superhero-related, even if it's bad. It's really easy to
get me into a new show if we start at the beginning (and special
points for ridiculous sci-fi).
Music - I change this section every time I'm on here it seems.
Florence + the Machine, Santana, Barenaked Ladies, Islands, Less
than Jake, Rob Thomas, Streetlight Manifesto, Avenged Sevenfold,
Fatboy Slim, Shinedown, Foxy Shazam, Crystal Castles, Gwar, Guster,
Jack Johnson, Eiffel 65... I'm a total sucker for classic singers
like Dean Martin and Ray Charles, as well.
...I won't go into much electronic music here, but if you would
really like to know we can chat DJs and genres. It just will take
up too much space of my already too-long profile.
Food - make it really foreign or really local. I cook for a living,
and love to try new stuff. I love Vietnamese, Japanese, and new
Spanish cuisine. The closest I will get to fast food is sketchy
Chinese takeout. I rarely eat meat, but I am not vegetarian. I just
get more excited by meatless foods, because of the focus on fresh
ingredients and striking flavors.
