I'm a bit of a nerd. I love technology. I taught myself to take apart and rebuild a computer when I was 12(to my parents dismay). I now have my MCP, MCSA, MSCE, MCITP, MCTS in Windows 7 Configuring, MCTS in AD, A+ and ITIL V3. I am aware that is Greek to most, but if you know what they all are? Your stock just went up a few bucks :) I'm not always a nerd though, I promise :)
I find myself intrigued by anything on the Discovery Channel, History Channel, H2, Sci-Fi, National Geographic...you get the point :) Shows like that keep me entertained because they make you think. I have been on a “Universe and how it works”, kick. I have found so many shows on space, time travel, dark matter, quantum physics, parallel universes, etc. I love learning about things that I don’t know, especially things that are hard for my feeble mind to comprehend! Just like working out to stretch your muscles? I work out my mind to stretch it ☺
On the other hand, I am also very into sports. I love all sports, but in this order: baseball, football, hockey, tennis, lacrosse...and the rest fall into place from there on in... Baseball is easily my favorite to watch. I will always be a Philly. Yes, I WILL pay $300 a year to get the Extra Innings package so I can watch my Phillies games in Colorado. I also enjoy playing; wish I was doing that for a living and making $10 Million a year...but I like what I do :)
I guess to what I DO...do. haha. Well, I guess I have to update this, I no longer work in Philly...haha. I actually got myself a job within two days of being here, and one of those was a Sunday! :) I am now a Systems Analyst at Long View Systems in downtown Denver :) I love my job, I love this city, and I love the people I work with :) The view from the office isn't too shabby either :) I'm on 16, so I'm not TOO high, but it's a better view than I've had before :) (I do have a rooftop patio on my apartment in Capitol Hill with a grand view of the Denver skyline as well; so I get the best of both worlds :))
I am also very talented with music. I love all types of music, and have played and at least dabbled with piano, saxophone, violin, guitar and trumpet. I was tested and had perfect pitch back in elementary school, and got the highest score in the entire school on a musical aptitude test. Go me!
I do enjoy going out on weekends and having a few beers or whatever, but I am also content just staying home and indulging my love for cinema :) I am also always up for anything new. I am one to try anything once. Speaking of which, one thing I want to try at LEAST once is skydive. I would LOVE it, and there is my ADD setting in; ooh shiny!
I love staying up all night and talking, (preferably when I don't have to work the next day, even though that has happened...) I like to take the opposing side of a debate, even if I am on your side haha. I make you think about some things in ways you might not have considered before. A stimulating conversation is a huge thing for me, I like to have someone to challenge me in the same way that I like to challenge others. I see that as a gift; even if we are talking about something that I don't know much about, and might even disagree, I can always come up with a way to disagree about it in a valid retort.
I also love to read and write poetry. I have quite a few published online. I also have a few that are published in compilation books.
Poems I have written:
To the woman that I love
An angel sent from above
The sun that lights the sky
That guides me by and by
The rose that so beautifully blooms
With beauty to fill so many rooms
The woman with a touch so silky smooth
A single hug and your heart with soothe
A beautiful face that helps your heart heal
And the most beautiful eyes that you can almost feel
This woman I speak of is sitting right here
And I love her with my whole heart sincere.
Love is like a windy day,
Stirring up things that have gone astray.
Things you would never think to see,
Come out from under lock and key.
With windy days come clouds and rain,
Which cover things you have to gain.
You have to look beyond the clouds,
To see the other things around.
Sitting in a storm will make you think,
Of all the things you have to link,
To life, to love, and everything between,
If you just recognize the love you've seen.
Life can be wonderful
And life can be pain
And it's the painful times
That drive you insane
You think you've got a hold
You think you're in control
Its those times that you're not
You need someone to console
You need that special someone
To confide in and trust
Through the good times and bad
Their love is a must
They won't let you down
They'll hold your head up
They will fill your glass full
When you have half a cup
So hold on to this person
Stick by them throughout
Because just when you need them
Their love is devout
Some things in life
are hard to explain
Some things too difficult
its tough to maintain
You think you can make it
you want to do it yourself
but everything builds up
and it’s put on a shelf
You go on with life
as nothing is wrong
but you know deep inside
you're just trying to hide
You need to push foreword
and face things head on
cause if you do not
soon everything is gone
So fight for your life
fight for what you love
give it some time
and you will rise above
What is life?
A string of occurrences
A jarbled up mess of memories
What can you make of it?
What sense does it have?
Does it have a path?
Can you make it what you want?
Or does it make YOU what it wants you to be?
Am I in control?
Can I choose the path I take?
Every life has a plan
Everybody’s it different
I know what my life is
What can you make yours?
Well, I suppose that is enough for one night, if you want to know anything more, I guess you’ll have to ask!
Farewell and Goodnight!
