My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm usually a quiet person, but also sometimes geeky and kind of proud of it. I'm always happy to enter a lively conversation or discussion, as long as everyone is civil.

I like going out and catching movies, taking nature walks or exploring Ohio's unique locales, but I'm also perfectly content cuddling on the couch to watch TV or play a game. Honesty, respect, compassion and a good sense of humor are important to me, and I try to foster the same in my own personality.

I’m basically looking for someone to get to know. Somebody to spend time with, to stay up late talking with about subjects ranging from the silly to the profound. I laugh easily and like making my friends laugh, even if it’s just hearing a few of my brother’s awful puns. I enjoy small adventures like finding new bookstores, obscure restaurants and nature spots, and it would be nice to share those times with someone special.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am an e-resource specialist at the OSU library. I work with a great bunch of people and there's always something new and interesting to do. Working on campus is exciting because something cool is usually going on. As an old friend told me, "no job is better than one where you are surrounded by books."

In my spare time I work on my personal writing, and whenever possible I take time for fitness, cooking, reading and keeping up with my friends.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, conversation, and being a supportive older sibling. My friends describe me as helpful and positive. I love conversations that begin with light, mutual shared interest and evolve into in-depth discussions of a movie, book or genre of fiction.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My sense of humor, or my relaxed and outgoing nature. I can be a geek if someone gets me talking about the right subject!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love scifi, fantasy and drama, so my book collection is a good mix of classic and modern--Edgar Allen Poe, Asimov, Douglas Adams, Philip K. Dick. I enjoy the work of Shelley (both Mary and Percy Bysshe), and John Donne's poetry is always fun. I’d also really like to get into Harry Potter more.

Castaway, Secondhand Lions and Finding Forrester are a few of my top movies, and I can't say no to a good documentary. I also have a soft spot for good animated movies, like Wall-E and How to Train Your Dragon.

As for TV, Firefly, House MD and Star Trek are longtime favorites. I've been getting into The Mentalist, Sherlock and Hannibal lately. I'd really like to get into Doctor Who but I don't know where to start, so hopefully I can find a whovian on here.

For music I like a lot of classic rock, electronic, alternative and 80s bands, but I also own a few film scores--Jerry Goldsmith, Hanz Zimmer and James Horner are my top three movie composers. I'm also a Philip Glass fan. Offspring and Green Day are nostalgic for me too.

Food: I've tried everything from authentic Mexican to Japanese and I like most of it. I also have some Italian heritage so I guess it's natural that I love Italian food, but then I haven't met someone who doesn't like it.
The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
"Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space."
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Grabbing food with friends, watching an old movie, or focusing on my writing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

My real name is at least partially based on an obscure old TV reference. My folks are kind of geeky like that.

...you are relatively upbeat, have a healthy sense of humor and possibly some geeky interests. If you want to meet for tea or just want to chat about books, movies or TV shows, we'll probably get along just fine!
