I am wondering, what to type, and here.

My Self-Summary

I think there is nothing more important in life than to enjoy it, make people smile, laugh, guffaw. The rest is superfluous stuff that you shouldn't stress over too much.

Anyway, about me... I'm really into the outdoors. Love to go hiking, camping, and playing frisbee golf, anything active and fun... and at the end of a hard day's play, I enjoy sitting down with a good book or watching a movie.

I'm originally from England, and I'm a web-developer for a large company in the area. I've been described as both the dumbest genius and the most intelligent idiot my friends have ever met... so, I go for "glass half full" on those.

I'm into aviation, and getting my private pilot's license is on my bucket list. My father and I fly a flight simulator together every weekend, slowly making our way around the globe.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I just recently bought some land in Colorado, and am designing my dream home to build out there in a few years. As I like to be self-sufficient, it's going to be completely off-grid, but with most of the luxuries of a regular home, provided through solar and wind power, on-site water processing, and a full passive solar design which requires no electricity to heat (or cool) the house. Right now I'm finishing up the plans to present to the planning inspectors... and looking forward to going to see my property in September.

I’m really good at

Breaking the ice, making people smile and laugh... and listening to friends when they need it. Cooking. Making plants turn an awesome brown color (I really need to learn how to grow veggies without killing them if I'm going to be self-sufficient).

The first things people usually notice about me

My accent. "You're not from 'round here, are you?"

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A big fan of the British author Terry Pratchett. I've read 25 of his books, some of them twice, a couple of them three times. He's about the only fiction author I read. Other favorite subjects to read about are religions of the world, culture, psychology, biology.

Movies... hmm... I'll watch almost anything. Almost. Favorite movie has to be Dune.

Music, let's see. Classic rock, mostly. Anything played with passion and feeling. The manufactured bands of today can go take a running jump.

I love foods of all kinds. I'll try anything once. I love to cook, and am pretty damn good at it, if I do say so myself.

The six things I could never do without

Oxygen
Food
Water
Sunlight

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Society, the world we live in, the illusions we set up to protect ourselves from some kinda scary truths.

Also, life, spirituality, and the nature of God. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a religion nut or anything, but I love to study different religions, see what I can glean from them, and see what their take is on this "God" thing. Some pretty interesting stuff. (As a side note, if I had to label my own belief system, it would best be described as pantheism... but hey, I'm probably wrong just like billions of others ;))

On a typical Friday night I am

Either:
- Relaxing in the hot-tub, listening to some music and having a beer.
- Out having drinks with friends, maybe playing some Guitar Hero or the Wii.
- Taking a nap, and then cursing myself at 2am because I can't get to sleep. I love naps.
- Studying studying studying

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm looking for someone special, not just someone.
