I am funny and positive. A good sense of humor is a must...life is
way too short to not laugh a lot!
What I’m doing with my life
I taught high school in NY, but I made some changes a while back. I'm an RN, and I finish a masters Nurse Practitioner program in May.
I’m really good at
Cooking and enjoying food with friends
Getting things done
Laughing as much as I can.
Playing guitar, bass and...pool.
Traveling, did I already say that?
The first things people usually notice about me
I am tall, so that jumps out...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Authors like Harry Crews, Flannery O'Connor, Larry Brown, Ron Rash,Irvine Welsh, Jim Harrison, G. Garcia Marquez, Neil Gaiman, Roald Dahl, Charlie Houston, Michael Chabon.. Thich Nhat Hanh, Robert Thurman. History....
Music is a big part of my life. I have been playing in bands since I was 14. I play bass and guitar. I am actually playing guitar right now...badly, as its hard to play while typing. I like Stax/Motown, Miles, Coltrane, Elliott Smith, Pavement, PJ Harvey, Yo La Tengo, VU, The Melvins, Mogwai , Nick Cave, Neil Young, QOTSA, classical, flamenco and lots of other stuff.
I really enjoy watching good (and some bad) films with friends. I like everything from Wes Anderson to Coen Brothers and Tarantino films...
tv shows- Parks and Rec, Daily Show, Colbert, Archer, The League, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Community, Arrested Development, 30 Rock
Food- yes. I love to cook. Thank you to all my previous chef roommates!
The six things I could never do without
My instruments (I guess that counts as more than 1...)
A good grocery, where I can get locally sourced food.
Quality coffee. I may have a problem. I'm ok with it.
My saute pan and a kitchen.
The Eastern Prom
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I can travel to and when, and with whom...
What is truly important to me and what is just stuff I want but
On a typical Friday night I am
Out to dinner with friends, seeing some music, or spending time at
home, it depends. I don't drink, but I do like bars quite a bit
after growing up in one and working in them for years.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I had a summer job as an ice cream truck guy in college, and was sent for tutoring with a ice cream "pro," due to my poor ice cream sales...no joke...Harder than it looks, people..
You should message me if
If you are in good place in your life, where you wake up and feel
interested and look forward to your day (usually).
