My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I live to live.
This means bumps, bruises, ups, downs, and sometimes sideways. To scare you all away, I would say that I'm a "choleric" personality: fiery, excitable, passionate...WEEEEEE! I'm great at the staying-home-and-enjoying-a-quiet-meal-and-movie-thing, but I don't think you get the most of me that way. I like to be actively doing, seeing, trouble-making. Maybe wearing my cape (sort of joking).

I am amused easily. I think that laughing and being silly are a fundamental part of life, and so should you! Teasing and being playful: Yes.

I love jellybeans and strong coffee. Sometimes I'll "accidentally" find myself at Bulk Barn buying copious amounts of swedish berries and malt balls, then eating them until I feel sick. Oh, hey, so I might also do the same thing with cookies. Perhaps ice cream as well. Which is why I work out on the regular.

I watch an embarrassing amount of internet cat videos. I swear I don't look for them, though. My wonderfully thoughtful friends have decided that since I have ONE cat, am in my 30s and single, this must mean I WANT ALL THE CATS, and keep the vids/gifs flowing my way.

A friend once said that he'd never met a more perceptive person, and it is indeed true that I can get lost looking at the small details of life. Sometimes I'll take a streetcar the whole route just to spend the time looking out the window, marveling at how glorious this city is.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do things for our youth, our animals, and the community we live in. I teach, and believe in leading by example, so I'm often involved in some sort of volunteering, or looking for the next opportunity to do so.

I'm also seriously considering taking my bike apart and spray painting the frame a ridiculously bad shade of orange. So, if you're good at putting bikes back together, I may need your help.

Most Sundays I make a trip to the dirty Dufferin mall, as it has the best prices in the city on yogurt.

On sunny summer afternoons, I love having a few too many adult beverages and acquiring the worst/most unusual tan/burn lines ever.

I have a big personality for someone so small.
...and I have a cape. A red one. I may have mentioned that already.

I listen to a lot of music, and am TV-less.
On Songza, my most frequently listened to playlists are the "blogged 50" (or whatever it's called) or "indie-electro". I'm also a huge fan of the monthly playlists from
I have a soft spot for Daniel Craig as Bond, and Tom Hardy as anything. I'm also a sucker for Jimmy McNulty and all his womanizing greatness. True Detective was pretty great, and it seemed I was amazing at falling asleep during Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, although I do give the show huge respect for encouraging others to take an interest in science. TEDtalks.
I eat a few times a day. Not a lot. Mostly vegetables.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why so many men say "I'm easy-going/laid-back" on their profiles. It's starting to sound more and more like something men think women want to hear...but really I just think it makes men sound lazy and/or boring.
How quiet sounds so good after intense periods of noise.
Why I have such vivid and bizarre dreams.
What I should teach/how I should teach it.
All the junk food I wish I could eat (without feeling guilty)

in an attempt to show my students a picture of my cat on my cellphone, I accidentally ended up showing them a picture of me in my underwear (which is another story in itself).
