I feel really geeky right now.

Across the world, people recognize this movie. Wither it's the flag pole scene, the line: "You'll shoot your eye out kid" or that ugly leg lamp. What people do not relieze is the movie is based on the book: In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash. This book was written by Jean Shepherd, who happens to be from Hammond, Indiana.
Why is this being brought up? It is Christmas Day (about 12:30am) and I am at work watching tv. Right now TBS is playing the movie...for 24 hours. I have never really watched this Christmas classic before. I have seen it, but never really appriciated it.
For my History of Indiana class I had to do a paper on anything dealing with Indiana. I did my paper on: Indiana's contribution to popualr culture. Yes, this state has contributed various things. One of the subjects in the paper was Jean Shepherd and A Christmas Story.
As I watch it now, I can see the influences of "da region" and the corn state that Shepherd has included. Doing that paper has helped me appriciate this state better.
Indiana still is boring and backwards to some extend. Anything south of US 30 has been hillbillified. What the fuck is a Hoosiers? I've lived here for almost 10 years and stil have no clue.

No matter where one lives, it will do them good to get out and explore the area.

Apparently I had a very deep, dark secret. It was buried so deep; even I was not aware of it.

I may not understand the total extend of the damage already done, and I may never know. Isn't the first step is to admit you have a problem?

I gots a new job. I get paid 8-8.50 an hour to sit around; mostly.

I work at Oppertunity Enterprises. I take care of the disabled/handicapped. I have to help them clean, cook(run for the hills), take their medications, drive them around, and just be there. Mostly: I have sat around a lot. Haven't had any behavioural issues...yet(knock on wood). The other night I went out to dinner with some of the clients and then we went to a movie. OE will reimburst me for all of it. Sweet!!!!

I'm just worried about the first time someone has a behavioural issue. Not sure if my first reaction will be the correct one.

at school....nothing to do. Waiting for me last final of this semester, which is at 6:30pm(Central time for all you others on not real time). Seeing Ironman tonight with peoples.
