My self-summary
Judging from what others have been saying to me lately, I'm a little bit larger than life. Not in the sense that I have a big personality - I'm actually pretty low key. People comment on how grounded I am, and how safe I feel. But the other day I had a friend tell me she was in awe of who I am as a person. And I seem to accomplish things that others don't even try. I'm regularly a little stunned by how people shy away from their own values and passions. It sometimes makes me sad.

I have a very strong mind and a big heart and I've been doing my emotional work. People seem to come to me for guidance a lot. If you get to know me you'll find someone who cares about the world we live in and tries to build what he believes in.

Sometimes I make silly noises and odd faces when I'm cooking. When I'm excited I dance in my kitchen. I laugh easily.

If you meet me you'll like me. I don't know if there'll be chemistry between us. Let alone romantic or sexual chemistry. But most people seem to like me.

....And an odd tidbit about me: I once hitchhiked from Munich, Germany to Aqaba, Jordan.
What I’m doing with my life
I do things that I care about. Professionally I help people grow as individuals and as communities. I've been doing that in different forms for years (as divergent as real estate and counseling). I'm exploring myself and learning to be more... me. Along the way I grow vegetables, dance, pray, hang with friends, cuddle, sing, laugh...
The first things people usually notice about me
You'd have to ask my friends. I tend to get a lot of comments on my eyes, my open-hearted groundedness and my smarts.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Gift (Hafiz). World as Lover, World as Self (Joanna Macy).

Music: Hmm… Michael Franti, Balkan Beatbox, lots of world music, medicine (healing) music… For dancing I really like old school funk, but other things can get me going too.

Film: Baraka (wow!), Goodbye Lenin, Harry Potter films... I actually don't see that many movies though.

Food: Things that grew in my yard! Lots of other things too – I'll eat most things, but I'm also a bit of a foodie. I like good food, and I like knowing where my food came from.

Inspiration
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm a counselor and a Ph.D. student, so... the psyche! And it's relationship to the earth, our bodies, community...

How to build collective vision for our culture, our planet and our future.
On a typical Friday night I am
I could be dancing or singing or having dinner with friends or at a show or at a Shabbat gathering, sometimes in combination. Or these days I could be studying.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I won't pull punches - I look at my life and have two thoughts: 1) "Wow! How the hell did I get here considering where I came from?!?!?! I'm so happy to have my life. And the way other people seem to see me. Wow!" and 2) "I'm middle aged. I don't feel middle aged, but I'm on my third career now... What happened? And I don't have a partner. Will I ever have a partner? And what about a kid?"
