My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've watched all of the Star Wars Christmas Special. I've seen every Leprechaun movie. Almost everything I own is used, and I've had it forever. I've seen every movie in the AFI top 100 list, Casablanca is the best and Lawrence of Arabia is the worst. Or maybe Dances with Wolves.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Let's see. I just moved to Lowell from the Midwest, so I'm spending a lot of time trying to get to know a new city and figure out this whole New England thing.

I try hard to get out and do new things and see new places. I heard once that when you do something for the first time, it gets stored in your memory more vividly than when you do it for the 12th, and I've made that into something of a philosophy. I try to choose new (even if it might be terrible) over familiar whenever possible, so that I never look back at a week or a month without being able to remember anything about it.

On a related note, if you're looking at my profile for romantic purposes you should know I'm in an open relationship. It's kinda great. We opened up the relationship a while back, so far it's really working for us. I'm enjoying getting to know new people without really minding whether the new relationship train ends up taking us to Friendshiptown, Short-term City, or Seriousville.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, crosswords, Password, talking about fiction as though it were vitally important, tarot reading, being understanding, sunny-side up eggs.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This has got to be the most useless profile question, don't you think? Honestly, have you ever read anything of use or interest in sincere responses to it? By the time a person is telling you that they think that other people think their butt makes a good first impression, you have a level of hearsay that would hold up in no court of law.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I read a range of things, with a sort of inexplicable focus on British things from ~the 30s: Sommerset Maugham, PG Wodehouse, Agatha Christie. I've read a bunch of Stephen King but I'm a little burnt out ever since I finished the Dark Tower series. I can't resist older pulpy paperbacks. Currently reading: The Magicians.

Comics (because I really like comics): I'm extremely omnivorous, devouring almost anything that can be borrowed from the library or other people. Favorites include Blankets, anything Alan Moore, Chris Claremont X-Men, anything featuring any Barbra Gordon, Rick Geary's A Treasury of Victorian Murder.

Movies: Perfume, The Fall, Harold and Maude, 40-year-old-Virgin, Airplane!, Muppet Christmas Carol, Vertigo, It's a Wonderful Life.

TV: Star Trek, Batman: TAS, Buffy, How I Met Your Mother, Blackadder, Happy Endings, Community, Daria, Sesame Street, Game of Thrones and Mad Men. I'll give almost anything animated a chance.

Music: I really like the Magnetic Fields, Rilo Kiley, Johnny Cash, Moby, anything weird and old, including country, motown and folk and, I dunno, ragtime. Music isn't my most passionate interest, but I love the stuff I love.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. VHS tapes
2. Paperback books
4. Linda Goodmans's Love Signs. It's stupid, I love it still.
5. Bathtub
6. Skirts
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Colors, apocalypse scenarios, ethical dilemmas, whatever fiction I'm wrapped up in at the moment, The ins and outs of OKCupid, such as how I wish there was an "interested in" category for "casual makeouts", Savage Love, comic books, stories I heard on NPR, what the future looks like and how to get there.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People often use this space for caveats, and I think that's not a bad idea.

Here, I think, are my three worst traits as a companion:
1. Always late
2. Terminally indecisive
3. Often over-thinking

They are somewhat connected: I am often late because I was thinking too much about a simple decision.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
*You want to talk and talk about some geeky or theoretical things. Especially Muppets. Everyone I know is sick of talking to me about the Muppets.

* You'd like to teach me the ways of Lowell or Boston.

*You think I might be fun to socialize with. As mentioned above, I'm new to the area, so I'd love to meet new friends as well as new romantic interests.
