I am rational, intelligent, and witty.

My Self-Summary

Where to start?

My life isn't exactly empty, but I'd have to say it's somewhat unfulfilled, or not fully realized, which is why I'm here. I'm looking for a relationship with long term potential.

I have a pretty good sense of humor and am usually good at making people laugh. I range from dryly sarcastic to side-splittingly funny, but I don't force humor just to be funny, so I can't guarantee you'll be wiping away tears of laughter the first time you meet me. My favorite current funny persons are Lewis Black, Dane Cook, and Eddy Izzard.

I'm very in to rationalism critical thinking and skepticism as you will see in the list of some of my favorite web sites.

I like to go out of town with friends on vacation, especially on cruises. I've cruised the Caribbean twice and just did Alaska in August. Alaska was awesome, but I missed snorkeling. I'm planning on possibly cruising the Mediterranean next year.

In July, one of my friends and I went to The Amazing Meeting which was pretty cool.

What I’m doing with my life

I work as an IT systems engineer at a large law firm.
During the week, it's mostly TV, video games, or a long walk. On the weekends it's getting together with my friends for whatever.

I’m really good at

Troubleshooting/ problem solving. It's amazing how often people won't bother to properly define the problem before seeking out a solution. Always start at the beginning and assume nothing.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm fairly intelligent.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My favorite books are the Saint Germain books by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro.

My taste in movies is broad and eclectic, I have a very large collection of DVD & Blu-Ray titles (Over 1000). Blade Runner, The Counterfeit Traitor, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, and 3 Days of the Condor are just a small sample of my favorites.

Any movie can can improved by watching while listening to RiffTrax

Favorite TV Shows: House, Castle, NCIS, MythBusters, The Office, 30 Rock, The Mentalist, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Lost, Doctor Who.

Favorite Web sites: sciencebasedmedicine.org. Respectful Insolence, skepticblog.org, randi.org, Pharyngula, and other critical thinking sites.

My taste in music is broad and eclectic as well, but pop music from the 80's is my favorite.

Driving to & from work, I listen almost exclusively to NPR on the radio, especially since Bernie Miklatz switched to a midday time slot on the radio.

One of my favorite restaurants is Mongolian BBQ. I'm nearly always up for a Chinese buffet or Tex-Mex
I like German food, but there's hardly any German restaurants left in STL; St. Louis Gast Haus has excellent food, but the service is so horrible, I only go there once a year.

The six things I could never do without

My friends, a DVR, a game system (Currently the Xbox360), the Internet, DVD/ Blu-Ray Player, my cell phone.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

All sorts of things, really; it's a big universe full of many things to think about.

Various issues on critical thinking/skeptical blogs.

I can spend hours researching various random subjects on the web.

I enjoy deconstructing things, from fallacious logic to bad science and weak plot points in TV & movies.

On a typical Friday night I am

On a typical Friday, there's about an equal chance that I might be having diner and hanging out with a group of my friends or playing Xbox 360 online with one or more of my friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm an atheist, but my family doesn't know it. Either that or the fact the I watched and enjoyed The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency on HBO.

You should message me if

You're not seriously into woo, Jesus isn't the most important person in your life, and you're looking for a witty, intelligent guy with which to explore the possibility of a long term relationship, and you are interested by my profile.
