My self-summary
Hi, I'm Kat. I grew up in New Hampshire and have been in San Francisco for almost three years. Tahoe, Washington, Peru, Guatemala, South Carolina are some of the other stops I made along the way. I'm a classic introvert who enjoys more intimate company over loud, crowded spaces. A quality over quantity kind of thing, though I can definitely hit the dance floor and karaoke stage every now and then.

I got a little bummed out last spring and realized it was because I wasn't wandering around looking at interesting things enough, so I've started going to new a place at least once a month. I'd love to find a backpacking/hiking/camping partner.

I tend toward a minimalist lifestyle but don't often deny myself things I love. My traveling philosophy is similar. I stay at hostels but tend to spring for the private room. And, of course, there is a lot more stuff I could say, but now it's your turn...
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working as a science teacher for an enrichment organization, and just enrolled in a permaculture course. I get to play with reptiles by day and learn about plants by night. My goal is to work in a sustainable landscape design capacity. I'm not much of a city girl but SF is so beautiful and I'd love to find a way for people to reduce their ecological footprint while still enjoying the benefits of an urban lifestyle.
I’m really good at
Staying calm. Speaking the truth. Confronting challenges. Teaching children. Keeping succulents alive. Disc golf (accuracy not distance). Snacks! Liking bacon. Making homemade lotions. Simpsons trivia(I could use some help with this one)!
The first things people usually notice about me
Hair and clothes, yo!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
These tend to vary, but here are a few consistent staples:

Casablanca and The Princess Bride
The Simpsons and so many others
Elvis Costello, The Decemberists....
The six things I could never do without
Peace of mind
Fresh air
Bodies of water for looking at and getting into
And the other obvious ones...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
All the homeless animals and how much room is at the foot of my bed. How to find someone I truly connect with and how not to end sentences with prepositions. Where to explore. Whether or not to get a little house in the country with chickens and a garden or to keep traveling. What my profile would have looked like if my pictures of Machu Picchu hadn't been stolen. Hall and Oates.
On a typical Friday night I am
This definitely varies. Any ideas?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My mom randomly sends me stuffed robots of varying sizes and colors. I have a cool mom.
You should message me if
Anything here interests you…. Disc golf, anyone?
