My Self-Summary
This year I also snowshoed at Mt. Rainier in March, hiked ruins in Mexico in April, climbed around Long's Peak and Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park in May, and backpacked in Dolly Sods in August. I've fallen in love with travel and I'm looking for someone who will explore with me.
I also like my home city of Baltimore and during my time here I found that I like to start stuff. I started a film series in Baltimore last year. And a hiking group five years ago that is still going strong. And many of the campfires on our weekend camping trips.
I am still a kid inside. I jump up and down on beds (just did so in NYC a few weeks ago!), host parties that last until the wee hours, skinny dip, and dance at shows any night of the week.
I play the piano (barely) and I'm taking guitar lessons so that by the end of this season I can play a song or two around the campfire.
My most recent favorite beer is Lagunitas IPA. It even moved past Dogfish Head 60 minute to get to the top of my list. (But I will drink Natty Boh if it's a summer day, and there's bike riding involved.)
Department stores, strip malls and chain restaurants give me the heebie jeebies.
I believe in living simply so that others may simply live.
I am a greenie....I have no car and I bike a lot of places (which doesn't mean I can't get to you...I work in DC and I'm very resourceful with public transit and car rentals). I hate waste and packaging, and I love my farmer's market on Sunday mornings.
I am happy and I'm looking for someone with whom i can share that happiness. Someone with whom I can make burritos, bikeride through Europe, wake up next to and debate a brunch location, trek and travel around the world, garden, philosophize, and share days of doing absolutely nothing or everything silly we can possibly think of.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
Gathering people together. For parties, benefits, beer drinking, activism, movies, and outdoor adventures.
Making omelets.
Riding my bike on Baltimore city streets.
Making lemonade outta lemons.
Communication.
Expressing gratitude.
Introducing people to new things.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: A Man Without a Country (Kurt Vonnegut), Green Collar Economy (Van Jones)
Movies: King Corn, Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, Revolutionary Road, Darius Goes West
Music: Old Crow Medicine Show, Brandi Carlile, MGMT, Wye Oak (and many other Baltimore bands), Hurray for Riff Raff, Flaming Lips
Food: sushi, risotto, pad thai, that pumpkin appetizer at the Helmand...my god, that shit's yummy.
The six things I could never do without
2. Trips to the wilderness to escape the urban heartbeat.
3. Friends and loved ones to go with me on those trips.
4. Good beer to accompany me or be discovered on those trips.
5. My passport so some of the trips can be international.
6. Long kisses.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
You should message me if
But I can forego the cheekbones if you have a sense of: humor, humility, adventure, who you are/want to be, spontaneity, thoughtfulness, and gratitude for life.
Bonus points if your car has a roof rack for kayaks and bikes. And if you have a dog. And if the watering of lawns in the suburbs makes you feel icky.
