My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a grad student studying children's literature. I am one of those weird writer-people, but I generally dispense with the tortured soul in favor of just really enjoying stories and the way people tell them. I really like elephants and the Muppets and Gothic architecture.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm studying children's lit both academically and creatively. It makes me really happy! I work at a transcription company part-time, and I tutor English whenever I can find opportunities to do so.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Both serious conversations as well as being silly. If you want to solve the world's problems and/or add absurd running commentaries to animated movies, I'm your girl.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a ginger, and proud! Honestly, though, I'm not sure that I know what people's first impressions of me usually are. Hopefully positive things, though.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: so very, very many. First and foremost, Harry Potter. Also: The Prydain Chronicles, The Outsiders, A Thread of Grace, The Sparrow & Children of God, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Queen's Thief, Speak, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Wind on Fire trilogy, Chaos Walking trilogy, Les Miserables, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and many more

Movies: very random (a friend and I once watched Eastern Promises and Hairspray back-to-back. The emotional whiplash was fabulous). Favorites include: Stage Beauty, Moulin Rouge, The Brothers Bloom, The King's Speech, Jesus Christ Superstar (2000 version), A Muppet Christmas Carol

TV: I watch a lot of it. I love being able to return to the same characters week after week. Veronica Mars, Criminal Minds, The X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Hannibal, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Music: super random. Very in love with Mumford & Sons, Regina Spektor, Rufus Wainwright, Josh Ritter, The Weepies, The Killers. I love musicals, so I have a lot of soundtracks. I also love Celine Dion - ironically, but with such fervor that it basically loops back around to unironic. She's gloriously hilarious.

Food: just about everything
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. family/friends
2. writing
3. tomatoes
4. the ocean
5. my glasses
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Um, everything. I'm pretty much incapable of turning my brain off. I try to use this trait to make myself a compassionate and conscientious person. I like to think about how stories can impact people's lives for the better.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
hanging out with friends and/or just chilling. I'm more a small group of people kind of person as opposed to a party girl.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I mean, I already told you I like Celine Dion.
