In Portland via San Francisco (and Eugene before that, and the Bay Area before that). I'm a Golden State girl by birth, but half-Oregonian in my blood, so I feel at home in the PNW. I've got a lot of friends here, but would love to explore my new city with a new person!
I have a good job, a killer apartment, and a soft spot for goofballs and redheads (yeah, I don't know why either). My Twitter timeline is half pop culture figures and half sportswriters. (The death of Grantland.com was really upsetting to me.) I will never not be in the mood for Mexican food. Yes, I know guacamole is extra. My New Year's resolutions include listening to more live music.
What I’m doing with my life
Working 9-5 with creative people. Hanging out with my family and watching my cousins' kids grow up. Adding to my lists of restaurants I want to try and books I want to read. Figuring out how to most easily watch Giants baseball.
I’m really good at
- Making a glorious mess while cooking something delicious
- Coming up with three things for a list
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm the only girl that laughed at the inappropriate joke
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read 31 books in 2014, 36 in 2015, and working on beating those records. "Under the Banner of Heaven," by Jon Krakauer was one of the craziest, but "The Circle" by Dave Eggers terrified me the most.
Appointment TV in my house: Girls, Shameless, New Girl, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Friday Night Lights (yes, I know it's been canceled), Veep, Jane the Virgin, and whenever the 2014 World Champion San Francisco Giants make it onto TV in Portland.
Movies I've memorized: Bull Durham, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Sound of Music
Shows I went to in 2014:
- Mayer Hawthorne & Quadron
- Sam Smith
- Spoon & Future Islands
And in 2015:
- Garth Brooks
- Alabama Shakes
- Leon Bridges
The six things I could never do without
- piña coladas
- getting caught in the rain
- and the feel of the ocean
- and the taste of champagne
- making love at midnight
- in the dunes of the Cape
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where my next trip - near or far - will be. Also what's for lunch.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still can't figure out how they pulled off the heist in Ocean's
You should message me if
You crush rap songs at karaoke, or want to drink from brown bags on
the swings in Washington Park.
You embrace being silly, goofy, and irreverent.
You have something better to open with than "Hi how r u" or
actually want to meet in person. I don't need a pen pal.
