My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a big fan of exploration be it self, education, food, or global. Exploration is huge and it explains a lot of my personality. I guess there's just too much in this world and it's all so exciting, how could I ever say I was done?

I get exceptionally excited about a lot of things: light, film, running, composition, obstacle courses, poetry, cooking, and animation being just a few.

I've also been doing improv since age 12, so I'm definitely one for banter and a good giggle. I like someone who can get on the same page with me and keep the bit rolling.

Life is a big wonderful game of Calvinball. You wanna come play?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do lighting design for dance, theatre, opera, events, and now animated shorts as well. Between working my day to day gigs and pursuing my career goals, I keep a pretty packed schedule. The hours are long and weird but I dig it.

I'd also quite like to be a superhero should the need arise, so I'm always trying to stay active. Running, yoga, burpees, and always training for the next Spartan race.

Above all, I just want to be a source of good in the world.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
A number of things but I think the more special ones are:
Retaining information that I will never, ever need.
Picking out Christmas presents.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my eyes. They've been called "Siberian Husky levels of blue"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Lots. I reread my favorites over and over again and I can never leave a book behind. I'm a sucker for a well-written poem as well.
I used to read voraciously but it's fallen by the wayside a bit. It's an ongoing resolution to take more time to enjoy a book with a cup of tea or a glass of lemonade, and then who shall say I am not the happy genius of my household?

Movies: Pixar, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Monty Python (memorized), Mel Brooks, Marvel, all Batmans, the Rocketeer, Miyazaki, Princess Bride, Zombieland. The list continues! I'm really excited about just about any movie. I even like the not so good ones, provided they're rifftrax...'ed?

TV: Doctor Who, Firefly, Parks and Rec, Community, Game of Thrones, Monty Python, Batman: The Animated Series

(Are you tired of lists yet?)
Foo Fighters, Flight of the Conchords, Flogging Molly, Imagine Dragons, Proclaimers, The Who, Electric Light Orchestra...they're my jam.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I could do without a lot of things, I suppose. I'm fairly lucky.
Family, friends, health are the obvious. Toothpaste is a big 'un.

I could never do without something to do, which sounds very Dr. Seuss but I'm really just fidgety.

I guess that's only five...let's just add pineapple for good measure. If I were stranded on a desert island, I would quite like a pineapple bush. And for that island to be Kauai, if I get to pick two things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where I haven't been yet and how to get there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
My schedule doesn't always let my Friday be on a Friday, but for the most part, I like staying in, going on a run, watching a lecture, and thinking about how much I enjoy the Oxford comma.

Not opposed to going out either, there's just so many people out there and I genuinely dislike clubs. My interest in other people is directly proportional to how much I can hear them. If I can't hear you, how can we talk? I only know a few words of sign language and I can't keep saying "I'm sorry. I don't know. My turtle pooped?" It will get old.

**Note: I don't pay for this site so I can't see if you've liked me. Messages are pretty much the only way to get my attention. And let's be real, you can do better than "hey".*
-you can find the bright side of life.
-you're up for talking nerdy.
-you commit to the bit.
-you believe adventure is out there and don't mind running, jumping, and climbing to get to it.

-your idea of a romantic night spot and an impenetrable fortress are the same thing.

-you like doing things on dates. That sounds obvious but I'm much more comfortable walking around, cooking, or enjoying some activity other than sitting and watching each other eat.
