My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I always wonder about how well this website's personality tests work. Okcupid seems to think I am the most cynical person in my age range and I like to think that I look towards the bright side of things. Maybe its because of my strong "anti-bullshit" stance that leads to me being very straightforward. I'm not into games and I say what I mean so I can't be misunderstood.

I am a huge animal lover, and have always grown up around all sorts of creatures, but I never had a dog growing up.

Currently I live alone (okay, technically with my cat but no other people) in a one bedroom. After living with my family and various roommates I can say the quiet is wonderful, though on a rainy night it can be a bit lonely. I tend to be a bit of a workaholic at first, so I get my shit done and then have all the free time in the world after that.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
By day I'm a grad student working on my masters. By night...I am a very tired grad student. I love it and hope to one day go for my Phd. At the end of it all I plan on being a teacher and researcher. The best part of my job is that I get to make my own office hours! This means that my schedule is insanely flexible and I can do just about whatever I want, whenever I want at whatever pace is necessary. Obviously, it won't be like this forever. Eventually I will be teaching and doing research, but for now I am enjoying my free time.

Also I like to volunteer at animal shelters and go to concerts when I get the chance, though these days it doesn't seem to happen that much.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being a cat whisperer, watching movies, being dry and sarcastic.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The red in my beard (if its long enough) or the fact that I have headphones plugged in.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Stupidest Angel, Madness and Civilization, I am America and so Can You

Movies: The birds, Avengers, the first 2 X-men movies, Ben X, most good documentaries, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

Shows: The Daily Show, Colbert Report, South Park, The Simpsons, Once, @midnight, and Buffy the vampire slayer. Always Buffy.

Music: I'm a psychobilly boy at heart, but despite popular belief I listen to other stuff too. I like some old school goth rock, classic rock and roll, garage rock, some industrial stuff etc. Not really a rap fan and I can get picky with my metal.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My cat, other animals, chocolate, books, a comfy bed, toilet paper, and a texting buddy
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
contemporary social theory, food, school, what is next in life, why I never look good in a photo
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Normally these days I am home alone, but from time to time you can catch me at a concert.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My cat is trying to eat my phone
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to and think we might get along on some level.
You don't like bullshit in your relationships.
You think you might be slightly neurotic.

You are socially awkward and awesome. Because I am and people who are socially awkward and awesome should stick together.

Or if you can tell me what "family oriented" means. Its an irritatingly vague term that shows up on almost everyone's profile.
