My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like to go to a lot of concerts, particularly the ones in small local bars rather than gigantic stadiums where I have to pay $50+ for tickets. I wish I had musical talent and would love to be able to play the double bass one day. Other than that, I like to read, play video games, and when I have access to a quality oven I like to bake. I am a huge animal lover, and have always grown up around all sorts of creatures, but I never had a dog growing up.

Currently I live alone (okay, technically with my cat but no other people) in a one bedroom. After living with my family and various roommates I can say the quiet is wonderful, though on a rainy night it can be a bit lonely.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
By day I'm a grad student working on my masters. By night...I am a very tired grad student. I love it and hope to one day go for my Phd. Aside from being able to research what I want and being around other academics the best part of my job is that I get to make my own office hours! This means that my schedule is insanely flexible and I can do just about whatever I want, whenever I want at whatever pace is necessary. Obviously, it won't be like this forever. Eventually I will be teaching and doing research, but for now I am enjoying my free time.

Also I like to volunteer at animal shelters when I get the chance, though these days it doesn't seem to happen that much.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing research papers, over thinking everything, scrabble, baking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The red in my beard (if its long enough) or the fact that I have headphones plugged in.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Ratman's Notebook, The Stupidest Angel, Madness and Civilization, I am America and so Can You

Movies: The birds, Avengers, the first 2 X-men movies, Ben X, most good documentaries, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

Shows: The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Misfits, South Park, The Simpsons, Once

Music: I'm a psychobilly boy at heart, but despite popular belief I listen to other stuff too. I like some old school goth rock, classic rock and roll, garage rock, some industrial stuff etc. Not really a rap or metal fan though.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Animals, chocolate, books, a comfy bed, toilet paper, and a texting buddy
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
contemporary social theory, food, school, what is next in life, why I never look good in a photo
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either working, working with animals, or at a concert hanging out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My cat is trying to eat my phone
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to and think we might get along on some level.
You don't like bullshit in your relationships.
You think you might be slightly neurotic.

You are socially awkward and awesome. Because I am and people who are socially awkward and awesome should stick together.

Or if you can tell me what "family oriented" means. Its an irritatingly vague term that shows up on almost everyone's profile.
