I'll say this right out front. I'm not the nicest person you'll ever meet, I'm not a sweetie and I stand up for myself. I swear more often than a "proper lady" should. I'm sarcastic, hard to get to know and more than a little bit mean-spirited especially when I'm tired and because I'm working and going to school right now, I'm tired an awful lot. I have made a big tough college professor cry during office hours. And this is me trying to be positive about myself and sell myself as a nice catch.
I'm the typical millenial nerd girl, always with my defenses up, caught up in my own head trying to make my way in a world that's slanted against me. If you can break me down I'm worth the effort, I'm sure of it! I'm not the type that makes friends easily; I don't have a big collection of girlfriends and my best friend in the world is probably my ex-boyfriend. You have to earn my trust but when you have me as a friend I'm loyal and I'll fight for what I believe in.

I'm a student at UCSD, studying communications. I like reading and writing and I've had a couple of my poems published. This year I'm hoping to move on to short stories and maybe work on a novel. I figure I might as well try this while I'm in college and before "the real world" strikes.

I'm a good writer, a good singer, a great cook and a great dancer! I'm also a good swimmer even though people think I don't have the body for it. But I'm tougher than I look!

I also look younger than I actually am. I could totally walk around at a high school and nobody would notice.

I'm just making the transition to a vegetarian lifestyle but I still eat meat sometimes. I love a good steak like anyone else but I'm trying to be a more socially responsible consumer. I eat a lot of East Asian foods (Thai, Chinese, Japanese) in addition to the mainstays of pasta, Mexican food, Indian food, fruits, vegetables and sweets. I loooooooove sweets!
I like anything science fiction, high fantasy and horror. I love Stasheff, Stephen King, Tolkien, Dean Koontz, Clive Barker, Frank Herbert, Bradbury, Heinlein, Poe, Lovecraft, Spider Robinson, Michael Stackpole etc.
I don't really watch TV often except when the Raiders, Lakers or Dodgers are playing. I'm not a "sports grrrl" or anything but I like to relax and watch a game while reading. So I can't really say I have a favorite show; when people at work talk about the Office or American Idol I just stare blankly at them. I watch anime and enjoy it although I don't get to watch as much as I used to. I'm still partial to Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, One Piece and Death Note and Sailor Moon as my guilty pleasure. I haven't kept up much lately I'm afraid. I didn't even go to Comic-Con this past year. If you had told 2008 me that I'd miss Comic-Con I'd probably have kicked you in the shins. I'm definitely going this year though!
For music I like everything except rap and country. I can't really relate to either.

Why I'm doing this in the first place.

I'm probably reading. I don't go out all that often, I spend most of my free time curled up on the couch under about 5 of my grandma's quilts just plowing through a book whether for pleasure or for studying. Like I said, I don't go out all that often, Friday is my catchup night more often than not.

So I feel like I should update this. I put bi here instead of straight more out of a desire to be honest with people writing to me and a desire to be honest to who I am. That doesn't mean I'm looking for women specifically right now. On the Kinsey Scale I'm in that 1 to 2 range. It's not like I'm averse to being contacted but for the most part AT THE MOMENT I'm looking for men to date and women to be friends with potential to be more than friends with. This is probably TMI for this kind of site but whatever, it's the truth so deal with it.
