My self-summary
I'm smart, creative, talkative and shy. I'm also currently anti-dating, not sure why, and anti-sex, anti-romance, but not anti-people. Is anyone else interested in making new friends using the OkC Match, Friend and Enemy %ages?.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm back in school, and should complete my Bachelor's by the end of 2015. My major is English with a concentration in Writing and a Philosophy minor, and this term I'm taking Computers, Ethics & Society; Global Climate Change; and Intro to Chicana/o Studies. I plan to go after a doctoral program once I graduate, but I'm darned if I know what subject I could pursue. I'm good at school and everything is interesting, so I'm having trouble narrowing my focus. I go dancing when I'm not too busy studying, and I meet some Fridays with local board game geeks.
I’m really good at
I'm good at pattern analysis, creative problem solving, and throwing myself back into the fray one more time after getting knocked on my ass again. No falls, no balls. Or something.
The first things people usually notice about me
Intense, bright and odd are words I've heard applied to me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Sci-Fi/Fantasy -- Mercedes Lackey, Pat Cadigan, Piers Anthony, Anne McCaffrey, Orson Scott Card, Robert Heinlein, Spider Robinson

Movies: Rubin & Ed; Breakfast Club; Blues Brothers; Pump Up the Volume

Shows: WKRP; Muppets; Star Trek DS9; Buffy; Gilmore Girls; House and guilty pleasure The Carrie Diaries

Music: I like music I have history with, so anything from a decade or more ago. I especially like New Wave and Classic Rock.

Food: I've been learning little bits of cooking lately, and I try to prep some stuff over the weekends to make meals during the week easy. I like mushrooms and onions, so I sautée a bunch, make up some soup and some hollandaise sauce, and then keep taco fixings, frozen chicken, stuff for salads and omelettes and things on hand so I can throw together healthy meals at need.
The six things I could never do without
Plans, hope, stories, friends, a challenge and a sense of humor.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I've usually got a puzzle of some sort to work on. Right now it's why people do what they do, what they're trying to communicate when they do whatever it is, and how to peacefully coexist. Dating, work, school and friends are all subsets of this. Culture's an angle on it. Music, internet and beer are modifiers.
On a typical Friday night I am
Many Fridays I wind up on the patio of a local bar with a group of old friends, talking about board games, playing cards and dice games, and eating whiskey-seared beef tips. NOM.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm told I'm a little bit autistic. I'm not sure this is a bad thing. I like the way my brain works.
