My self-summary
Currently attending the University of Washington School of Law. For now, that's most my life. In my free moments, I love to read, jog, do crossword puzzles over coffee, explore the city, and explore new activities. I don't spend nearly enough time employing a frisbee. More than anything, I appreciate spending time with close friends and making new ones.

With friends, some of my favorite pastimes are talking politics, discussing whimsical matters in a serious manner, and playing games (e.g. cribbage, Ms. Pac-man, chess, Tetris, and the like).

Cooking and baking are also activities I enjoy, but fail to partake in as often as I might like. Too much hassle to cook for one.

I'm easily amused and constantly in awe of the world around me.

I also tend to pun. Liberally. And not just because of my politics. There, see? It can't be helped.

I am inertial, progressive, and conscientious
What I’m doing with my life
Looking for an organizing principle. There are many issues and causes about which I am passionate (equality, immigrant rights, and civil rights, to name a few), but I have yet to find the one which serves as an anchor for my ambitions.
I’m really good at
Keeping sight of what's important. Getting to bed at a reasonable hour. Being there.
The first things people usually notice about me
This seems like a question more appropriate for "people" than for me, now doesn't it?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; Don't Think of an Elephant!; Stiff; Brave New World; America: The Book; John Adams

b) Life of Brian; Amazing Grace; Life is Beautiful; Love Actually; Christmas Vacation; Batman Begins; Office Space

c) Artists: Sara Bareilles; Bebel Gilberto; Hot Hot Heat; Regina Spektor; Tierney Sutton

d) It varies substantially, but since I was the wee-est of lads I've had a special fondness for cheese. My grandmother has a story on the subject which she loves to tell. She also has one about how I bit her on the ankle rather than leave McDonald's PlayPlace. But it isn't true. It was my great aunt that I bit. Oh my, how I digress!
The six things I could never do without
1.) Mochas (most preferably Fair Trade)
2.) Intellectual stimulation
3.) Time for self-reflection and repose
4.) Laughter (my own and that of others)
5.) A quip at the ready
6.) Aspirations
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What a more just society would look like (if I ever figure that out, I'm sure I'll move on to figuring out how to get there). People. Relationships (romantic, platonic, mortal foe-ships) and the social webs we weave. Evolutionary psychology.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home (or in a coffee shop) with a good book. Or out spending time with friends. Oh, and watching Battlestar Galactica, naturally - one last vestige of my scifi days.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My standard breakfast consists of a Lean Pocket and a banana. I think that bit earlier about biting my great aunt Evelyn's ankle was awfully personal as well. So there you go. Anything else, you'll just have to ask.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 22–46
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, activity partners
You should message me if
You have a healthy sense of outrage, but consider an upbeat/optimistic person; you enjoy good, meaningful conversation; you find me interesting. And this is imperative - you must tolerate (ideally, appreciate) puns.
