I was an English major in college and have a soft spot for the
works of Dante (really, The Inferno is amazing), Animal Farm
(probably the best story ever penned), Hemmingway (the guy wrote
novels while downing absinthe, that's what a hero is), The Great
Gatsby is just tops. As for more current offerings I love Tinkers
by Paul Harding, High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, The Bible of
Unspeakable Truths by Greg Guteld, The Joy of Hate by Greg Gutfeld,
and all of the Berenstain Bears books (yes, I had to google
Berenstain to make sure I spelt it right).
As for movies, I enjoy, both Godfathers (meaning 1 and 2), Citizen
Kane (probably the best movie ever made) Anchor Man, Role Models,
Step Brothers, Walk Hard, Inglorious Basterds, Schindlers List, The
Life of Pi, Goodfellas, Pulp Ficion, Resovoir Dogs, Big Fish, Lost
In Translation, Forgetting Sarah Marshal, Caddyshack, Ghostbuters,
Back to the Future, and some other movies I can't think of right
now. Like Jaws. That should have been there too.
I don't watch too much TV but I love the 3am show, Red Eye/with
Greg Gutfeld. Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Aqua Teen Hunger Force
(and Aqua Unit Patrol Squad), Squidbillies, Workaholics, eveything
Ricky Gervais does (with The Office being my least favorite), the
now off the air Rescue Me, and the delightful Max and Ruby (I'm
kidding, sort of).
I have an eclectic taste in music, though I grew up listening to
punk rock and my favorite band ever is The Clash. If I put my music
library on shuffle you'd probably hear Alkaline Trio, The Mountain
Goats, Manchester Orchestra, Thrice, Pink Floyd, Brand New, Neutral
Milk Hotel and Weezer. And if we continued listening to my musc
library on shuffle you'd probably hear Bayside, Gaslight Anthem,
The Hold Steady, The Bouncing Souls, Coheed and Cambria, Death Cab
for Cutie, Jimmy Eat World, Jets to Brazil, Snapcase, Make Do and
Mend, The Menzingers, Built to Spill, The Constantines, and
probably The Mountain Goats again. They have a lot of songs. We've
also presumably decided to listen to my music library on shuffle
for a lot longer than we intended.
As far as food goes, I enjoy the edible kind.
