I am funny, intelligent, and fabulous.
My Self-Summary
I truly enjoy being me. It wasn’t always easy, but I’ve discovered
the secret is not to take myself so seriously. Happiness is in the
little things. I’m dedicated to my friends, my family, my
yoga practice ("I'm very
bendy"), and
cooking. I am a
military brat, so I'm intensely
loyal. I'm supremely witty and can make just about anyone laugh. I
believe in being dignified, for the most part, but Air Supply
concerts can break that habit in anyone. It really wasn't just me!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm doing my best to have as much fun as possible while still
fulfilling my other obligations. I’m working on advancing my
career, but not to the detriment of the other parts of my life.
I’m really good at
Thinking of a movie quote for just about any situation.
Mixing/finding the perfect adult beverage for any food
choice.
Spewing arcane facts/trivia. If you're playing Trivial Pursuit,
pick me (waving hand in the air and "ooh, ooh"-ing).
Picking the movie/restaurant/bar/vacation spot, etc.
Holding up my end in a lively debate.
Actually, I'm usually good at anything I try. My secret is only
trying the things I think I have an even shot at doing well, and
then not taking it personally if I'm terrible at it.
The first things people usually notice about me
My piercing, cerulean eyes.*
My witchy cackle (if you’re going to laugh, I say mean it).
*My eyes are turning grey. It's cool, but now I don't know know
what color to call them.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I read a lot, so it's hard to narrow it down. A sampling of
authors: John Dunning, CJ Sansom, Lindsay Davis, JK Rowling (yes, I
loved Harry Potter), Ian McEwan, Paulo Coelho, Michael Connelly
(the few I've read), Bernard Cornwell. I'm sure there are more I
can't think of right now.
Movies: 80s movies
rank really highly. Real Genius is still one of my all-time
favorites. The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Gotcha, War Games,
Tombstone, The Shawshank Redemption. I really love movies; it's
tough to go wrong with me and movies.
Music: Just about anything, with the exception of rap and speed
metal. I really heart classic rock and 80s music. Dance, pop and
select songs from musicals often find their way onto my mp3
player.
Food: Yes please! I'm
not especially picky, and I love to try new things.
The six things I could never do without
Good friends
Good
wine
Lively conversation
Email/Instant Messaging
Chocolate
Quality kitchen utensils
I have to add Facebook, because I'm totally obsessed.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My plans for
world domination; they haven't
quite come together yet. I got close one time, but the whole plan
ground to a halt when I ran out of leather.
What I would do if won the lottery. Travel would be the number one
thing, followed by as many hockey games as I could get to.
What I would name my Cabana Boy*. I'm currently accepting
applications. Must be able to make excellent pina coladas and give
foot massages on demand. The selected candidate will be well
rewarded for his dedicated service. *winkwink*
*I reserve the right to call my Cabana Boy whatever I want.
On a typical Friday night I am
It really depends on what's going on, what my friends are up to,
how I feel. I'm not averse to spending the night in watching
movies. I'm usually just thrilled I get to sleep in the next day.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
What are you willing to ask me?
You should message me if
You are old enough to rent a car. Seriously.
You like lively conversation.
You want to tell me how lovely I am.
You have absolutely no urge to sing the Kelley song at me. That
Cheers episode was years ago, and it's never funny. Really. Never.
