My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Most importantly, you should know first that I am Kenny, always.

Here's some background music as you read this:

I'm originally from Maryland (DC area/MoCo), went to undergrad in Rochester, NY, and now I'm living in State College, PA. I'm a science person, and I find something fascinating about everything. I'm passionate for new opportunities, what the future may bring, and for discovery. Love travel (when I can) and I like to immerse myself into a location as much as possible. Nonetheless I haven't traveled too much though.

My personal motto is "לֶךְ-לְךָ/Lekh l'kha." It translates to "Go for yourself!" My secondary motto is "Forward and onward."

I like a guy who can play board games, or I can go out of the house with and walk around the block (I sound a little too city bound at this point), one who enjoys a retreat into nature and not just a park but the actual country. I like guys who can cook with me. I also like men haha... I like men who can get up early and head to the market with me, or walk 30 blocks to a museum, and 20 more for an evening meal. I like men who can appreciate good beer and good wine. But this is what I find to be charming, but I'm really looking for a guy who will have a functional relationship with me. And in case you wanted to know, handsome is my type.

I love music. When I was much younger, I played piano and clarinet. I don't just like music from the classical periods, though a lot of other music too. It is, for me, the best form of escapism, and the only way I could like it more is if I had synesthesia, so music I'm listening to could look as awesome as it sounds.

Life is still very novel to me. I've had a handful of experiences, but I keep looking forward to new things. New friends, perhaps dating, are what I expect here (most definitely friends).

I enjoy technique and process, working with my hands, and I have a reliable ability to learn others. Cooking, home improvement, and lab skills have definitely experienced my learning ability. Mechanics'd be nice to learn.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've just begun my first official year of grad school as a Pathobiology PhD student. A lot of my time is spent in lab, and even less in classes. Right now I'm doing my rotations, which will help me decide where I'll be doing my research.

I'm running on a lot of self confidence since winter 2011. My hard work investing in myself and my field of interest is really paying off for the better. As of now, all the goals I set myself since getting accepted to Penn State initially have been met. I'm still in that sort of stage where I'm more focused on myself than other men. I think it's a great time for dating, but I dunno. Nonetheless, in the spirit of self-improvement I've decided to start lifting 5 days a week and learning a bit of Portuguese.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I like short stories, "Harry Potter", "The Interpreter of Maladies", "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", "A Lesson Before Dying", "The Metamorphosis", "The Giver", "Le Petit Prince", "Night", "Brave New World", "The Fountainhead", "We the Living", "The Alchemist", "Les Misérables" (favorite book of all time)

Movies: Donnie Darko, Amelie, Crash, Hero, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, X-Men, Edward Scissorhands, Finding Neverland, Big Fish, In America, V for Vendetta, Fifth Element, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Children of Men; I prefer subtitled to dubbed (in fact I almost demand it, I hate feeling like the audio isn't matched well with the video)

Music: Classical, Pop, some alternative, a few others in other genres, Regina Spektor, Arcade Fire, the album "Hissing Fauna are you the Destroyer?" by Of Montreal, I like the "Crane Wife" album by the Decemberists. I've just recently discovered HaDag Nachash (they're good)... ooh and MGMT, Joanna Newsom; I add them as I go... Architecture in Helsinki, Vampire Weekend... Sigur Rós, who incidentally writes some of the best music too, Phoenix, Passion Pit, the Shins, twenty one pilots.

Food: Mediterranean/Middle Eastern, Thai, savory/herby like Italian/French, Jew food (but not matzah), Indian, sushi, American foods, not too big on obnoxiously sweet things. I love dark chocolate (especially the kind with cinnamon and hot chilies.)

TV: House, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Glee are pretty much my regularly scheduled shows. I also like the show Merlin.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My personality
2. Other people
3. Sense of humor
4. Ability to take things seriously
5. Thinking
6. Sleep
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The present and the future. What I want to do next. Since most of my thoughts are random, I usually don't think too much on one subject.

Lately, I've been thinking about applications of immunology for clinical treatments of disease, and the bases of immunological memory.

I also sometimes think about how pitiful the letters x and w can be. For example, why isn't "asks" spelled instead as "asx"; similarly why isn't it spelled "vacwm?" I also think that if anyone reading this is taking me serious with what I just said, then perhaps well... never mind, I don't wanna be rude.

Whenever I go somewhere, I always think "what have I forgotten?"

Some Favorite quotes (added as I go):

"On ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux."

"Vous êtes belles, mais vous êtes vides.... On ne peut pas mourir pour vous."

"There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it."

"Life is too important to be taken seriously."

"A man who does not think for himself does not think at all."

" be great is to be misunderstood."

"Ask anything of men. Ask them to achieve wealth, fame, love, brutality, murder, self-sacrifice. But don't ask them to achieve self-respect. They will hate your soul."
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Getting a drink or two with friends either at a bar or one of their places.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

If you have a pit bull or a Staffordshire, I may only be dating you just to hang out with your dog. :)

It's up to you, just have a clear face pic when you do. I'm tired of the total anonymity. I mean sometimes I'll respond, you never know.

Looking for a rock and not a stepping stone. Hoping for someone looking for the same.
