My Notes edit

My self-summary

Hello all you swell people out there! I'm a contractor, too busy, and looking to just get the hell out there and meet new people and have a damn good time doing it.

I get out quite a bit really: hockey once a week, sometimes soccer, sometimes ballroom dancing, bowling w/ friends once a week or two. I'm not often in a dating atmosphere, however. Bars are fun, but I'm tired of drinking and no one seems to be themselves there anyway.

I'd like someone to go out with, say, to the art museum, but not every week. I'm more likely to enjoy 7 nights a week cooking inventive boisterous meals together than making every night some crazy adventure into the heart of New York. While I love that stuff, I must admit, I don't like it THAT much...I work a lot as well (business owner), and scheduling crazy events like concerts is not a priority. Don't want you to think I'm anti-concerts; I'm just saying that I plan those types of events far in advance and infrequently.

What I'm doing with my life

I'm not your average contractor. I'm not a goat-eed Italian with a truck. I'm an ex musician (rock band and music major), ex teacher (English), philosopher and writer, and all around honest person.

I got started into contracting a few years ago working in a cabinet & furniture shop, left to do general building as a carpenter's assistant for a friend's company, and soon started my own company. I've learned a helluva lot (life-long learner) about business and building and building a business (go ahead say it 10 times fast...).

I pretty much plan to keep on keepin' on with it until I die.

I'm really good at

I'm really good at: whatever I set my mind to. I believe everyone has that capability (though I could be wrong and it's not exactly provable either way).

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I hear it's my blue eyes or my ass. Go figure. I can't see either of them without a mirror.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Vonnegut comes to mind. Robert Rankin. Hitchhiker Guide one of my all-time favs. Lord of the Rings as well. I don't read much these days...usually stuff about construction or the business world.

Movies: The Big Lebowski for starters. The newest Bond is amazing. Period movies are good, though I don't make a habit of them.

Music: Pretty diverse, but I don't buy enough new stuff. Last new CD I bought was The Killers: Sam's Town. I listen to anything from classical to rap though. Radiohead is probably my favorite all time band.

The six things I could never do without

1. My family. (I owe them...don't we all?)
2. My friends. (they keep me safe and sane)
3. Orgasms (hey seriously...who can do without them?)
4. Food (absolutely love to eat and cook too when I get around to it)
5. My brain (and all the wild ideas and dreams that keeps me pushing boundaries.)
6. Truth. (Sooo necessary)

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I'm a closet sarcasti-holic.

You should message me if

You should message me if you want to have a good & meaningful conversation, don't mind someone who speaks his mind, and aren't looking for a guy to just buy you all kinds of free dinners & jewelry. Booya!
